Getting pregnant using a hormone supplement

I was on birth control (Lo Estrogen) for 9 years after I went off to try to have a family in September of 2004 I did not get my period till 5 months later.  However, I tried to trigger my period by using a hormone balancing vitamin EstroFactors and 20 days after taking the supplement I got a period.  I stopped taking the supplement after that hoping that my cycle would continue on its own but it has been two months since my last period.  
My questions are, is it safe to be trying to get pregnant while using this hormone supplement? Would there be any side effects to the baby if I got pregnant while using it? Or should I just wait and try to be patient, but can you release your eggs even though you may not have a period and still be able to get pregnant?  Or do you need to have a period in order to release your eggs?

Were these hormone vitamins from a doctor or did you get them by your self off the shelf?
Make a doctors appointment let him know you are wanting to get pregnant He/She will have suggestions for which therapy is right for you.
