Gross, but I need to ask

Gross, but I need to ask

I have a question to ask, and I am sorry if it is tmi but I really don't have anyone else to ask because no one around me has had a m/c.  Okay here it goes, yesterday I had some pretty intense cramping and last evening I began to bleed, it was very heavy.  Well, I also began to pass what looked like clots but they were huge, some were about half of the size of the palm of my hand.  After all of the big clots passed, the bleeding slowed down like regular af, I was afraid I might have to go to the er because the bleeding was so heavy. I was wondering if having clots that size is normal or if it is something I need to tell my doc about, if it could be indicitive of a problem that might have caused me to m/c.  Any insight you could give me on this would be a huge help.  Sorry again if tmi.

its normal. but if it continues then you need to tell M.D. because you might require a D&C. if it has already slowed down then i wouldnt worry. sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your loss. When I m/c & d/c in Dec. I sure did pass LARGE clots and was in a lot pain for a couple of days. It is your bodys way of cleaning itself out. If you are still in pain with cramps use heat pad. It helped me. Give yourself some time to heal. I am sure that you may have so many feelings but just know that so many of us have gone through it as well. Keep your trust & faith in the good Lord. He has a plan for all of us even when we don't understand. Hope that helped.

That happened to my mom with a 2nd trimester mc, but she said the clots were the size of grapefruits. Clots indicate that the blood sat in there for a while. If is has slowed down, you'll probably be fine, but if it starts again I would go to ther ER because it could indicate that you are bleeding a lot inside still.

I'm sorry, I haven't been on this forum a lot lately so I may need to catch up.  But  I will just ask anyways. Were you for sure pregnant?  A positive HPT?  If not, then it could just be a heavy Af...or, you could have conceived, but the egg just didn't stick and that is was is causing the heavy bleeding.  Either way, you will probably never know for sure what happened unless, like I said before, you knew for sure that you were pregnant.  In that case, I would have gone to the ER ASAP.  While trying to conceive before my daughter, I had an AF that sounds just like yours.  I was not able to get a positive HPT, but I do think that I got pregnant and it just didn't stick.  but I'll never know!  If bleeding continues to be heavy, then call your Dr or go to the ER to find out what is wrong.
Good Luck.

Oh, I'm so sorry that you had to go through this.  I just miscarried last week, and it was exactly like you explained it.  I had huge clots, about the size of the palm of my hand, I also passed the amniotic sac, whole, never broke.  It was really uncomfortable, but thankfully I had a blighted ovum, so there was no baby in there, if that makes the situation any better I guess.  I had terrible cramping for a few days, and even passed more clots after the bleeding slowed down.  It has been a week today and the cramping is under control and the bleeding has really slowed down.  Just keep an eye on it and talk to your Dr.  Mine called to check on me and see how I was doing, I thought that was really sweet.  Hopefully you can move on and have a healthy pregnancy and beautiful baby soon.  Take care.

passing big clots is very normal when you miscarry I did for a week or so after I passed the little baby first I found my first period after the mc was very heavy but I guess it depends how far on you were when you miscarried I'm so sorry for your loss and good luck with your future pregnancies
