HCG DROPPING 30 - 11

I am so worried, this is my first pregnancy, I found out that I was pregnant dec.9/07 and my hcg level
was30.2  or somthing, but i went to the emergency this morning at 12:00am they did some test and said that my hcg level dropped to 11. They said that it might be a miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy. Please somebody help me to understand this process this is my very first pregnancy and i am praying to God that I don't lose it.

If they suspected ectopic, then why did they let you leave the hospital????? Something is wrong with the care you recieved, hopefully meaning that the levels are wrong as well, see you OB tomorrow morning! OR better yet...go to a different ER tonight.

They said it is too early to tell what is going on that they cannot detect if the baby will be in the f.tube or the uterus. I am so scared, I don't want to lose this baby. I booked an appointment to go see my gyno for Jan. 7th 2008. Thank you

No no no no sweetie! If they suspect a possible ectopic you need to see your OB now! And its not too early. Did they do an ultrasound? An ectopic can be fatal for you. Why did you go to the ER to begin with?

they said that they cannot really tell if it is going to be ectopic or miscarriage becuase it was too early. I went to ER because i was having some lower abdominal pain. Now it's hurting again right in the middle, the pain is shifting. I am so confused right now I feel like crying. They did an ultrasound, but couldn't find anything even with Transvaginal ultrasound. please help me

It is NOT too early to see if its ectopic. An ultrasound will show where the little guy is. If they did an internal, and you said they did, and couldnt see it, then it could be somewhere else. in the tube for example. Pain accompaines ectopic. If I was in your situation, I would be at another ER right now.

Im sorry, I dont mean to scare you. But my mother had 6...yes 6 ectopic pregnancies. And everytime they even suspected it, they did emergency surgery. Thats how dangerous it can be. But i do know that you can not wait until Jan 7. Especially if your having pain.  I am a nurse, not in OB but I do know a thing or two about emergency care. Are you having any shoulder pain by chance? SHoulder pain commonly accompainies ectopic miscarriage.

No, I am not having any shoulder pain, just lower abdominal pain. But i don't understand the drop of the hcg level. I am so scared.

Levels should double every 24-72 hours not take a dive. It sounds like a miscarriage to me usually with ectopic levels continue to rise but either do it slowly or extrememly they dont usually drop.

this is so frustrating....but the funny thing is I am not bleeding. My breasts are still tender, just having a little cramping in my lower abdomin (abdomen)

When I had a miscarriage the only way it was detected was that at 6w2d it had a heartbeat and then a routine ultrasound at 9 weeks the baby was only measuring 6w5d and there was no heartbeat. Its what is called a missed miscarriage its when the baby stops developing but your body hasn't actually gotten rid of it. Its a hard thing to go through and I hope that you aren't but your levels should be rising and that is what is the concerning thing. Do you know if they plan to do another ultrasound and/or to re-check your levels?

i hate that hospital, they are not telling me anything. I want to go to another ER tomorrow if i can.... they never told me anything. Is there a way that you can check your hormone levels at home????

There isn't since they have to take a sample of your blood in order to detect it. What you could try doing is getting a pregnancy test and testing with. Normal pregnancy tests detect it at about 25 and above some can be a little more sensitive than that but at least it would let you know if your levels are high enough to be detected or if they are still low. Have you tried contacting your doctor? Honestly I dont trust the hospital to say anything really since they told me I was having a miscarriage with this one and I wasn't so always confirm everything with your doctor since they are trained in that field. I hope everything turns out okay!

i fOund out that i actually am not pregnant anymore, therefore a miscarriage.
I am so devastated at this point< but thank you for your support.

how long does it take to get pregnant again after miscarriage, is it harder or something? i want another baby so bad, i can still see the face of my baby in my dreams, i don't understand it, I am praying to God for understanding.  Thank you everyone.

how many months pregnant does one have to be before they got d/c operated on them. I was only about a month pregnant, am still bleeding out though, its like am on my period or something, so I don't know whether i should still go to the hospital to get checked. I went yesterday, they were taking forever, one might as well die at home than going to that  hospital.

You can bleed for awhile,but I would go and get check out to make sure everything has passed. I think you have to be less then 12weeks for a d&c. but Im no doc. I got pregnant after only having one cycle......
