HCG Levels

Went for a blood test on 12/31/11 after taking 6 pregnancy test and 5 were positive. The Dr called me this morning to tell me that my levels are low. LMP was December 5 and he said I am like 10 minutes pregnant. He said he can not comment on my pregnancy unless I have another test today. This is our first baby and we are nervous. I looked up levels online and for 3 weeks I thought that 15-30 were normal. I don't know what to think or do. Well off to the Dr's office for more blood. Will post results.

I am not sure what you mean by 3 weeks—it is three weeks since your last periods, then yes, at that time the HCG levels vary from 5 to 50mIU/ml. However if you are counting 3 weeks from your last missed periods, then it is 7 weeks from your last periods or LMP. At this time HCG levels vary from 7, 650 to 229,000 mIU/ml. Hence at this time 30mIU/ml is very low, and does not indicate pregnancy. Hence, it is best to repeat the test. If the levels double or increase a lot, then yes, it does indicate pregnancy of lesser duration.
