I just found out on 5/20 that I was pregnant. Did not know how far along since I was breast feeding and taking birth controlControl Control rx, but u/s on 5/25 confirmed a 7w 0 day baby with a heart rate of 146 bpm. I had blood levels drawn on 5/20 with my HCG level being 20,491 and my progesterone was 8.05. I was then put on progesterone suppositories. My blood draw on 5/25 was hcg 44,476 and progesterone 7.95. And my most recent blood draw was 5/27 with the HCG being 55,571 and the progesterone level 9.41. My last (and successful) pregnancy started with progesterone of 11 but they didn't repeat the bloodwork, just gave the supplements and everything turned out perfectPerfect choice. 9 lb 5 oz baby girl! I spoke with the nurse today and she said I am a threatened miscarriage due to my numbers. I have had no bleeding or spottingVaginal bleeding between periods. Is ther any hope? Are the HCG levels still supposed to doubleDouble-tussin dm every 48 hours when they are that high? I hate this waiting-it's awful. She basically told me to expect a miscarriage because the progesterone level was so low. Any encouargement or help understanding all this stuff would be very appreciated.
Hi I know you are worried but have you talked to your doctor about this? Or just the nurse. I don't know alot about progesterone but seems like it did rise a bit. I just really wanted to send you a hug and pray that everything turns out alright. Babies heart rate is doing great too. Mine has stayed anywhere from 145-155 the entire pg and I am now 30 weeks.
Best of luck hon and let us know what your doctor says.

I was also put on progesterone medication due to a low 7.5 level. My hcg levels weren't quite as high as yours, but they did double every few days. I had some trouble with bleeding and discharge, but I have heard the fetal heartbeat twice (142 - 167) since then and feel quite sure everything will be ok. I have read some statistics online and have found out that after hearing a normal fetal heartbeat you only have a 5% of miscarrying. Hope this helps. Blessings.
I am almost 17 wks preg and had to go on the suppositories also at wk 6. I took them until wk 10. They told me a prog level of 10 was borderline. They said as long as I took the medicine like prescribed that I would probably be OK although they did an ultrasound every week to 10 wks to check for heartbeat. I do know that your HCG doubles every 48 hours until week 12. At that time it drops by halves every day drastically which is why some people get better with their morning sickness at this time.
I've learned not to put too much stock in what some nurses will tell you. They don't know as much as the Dr. Keep taking your suppositories like clock work and hopefully your HCG levels will improve. Blessings sent to you and hope everything improves.
Well here's my update post-ultrasound- So far so good I think. Last weeks ultrasound said 7 weeks 0 days and the baby had a heart rate of 146 bpm. This time, exactly one week later baby dated 8 weeks 1 day with a heart rate of 171 bpm. This time I got to hear the heartbeat through the u/s machine. The equipment this time was way more high tech, but the tech sucked. I even had to ask at the end if I could see the baby. She showed me the baby and the fetal pole for about one second and she didn't even get me a picture. The doctor will get the report from the hospital in 2-3 days. Oh well. I'm just happy that everything appears fine for the time being. I don't know about the blood work though. I had to pick up another lab slip and still have to get drawn at the stat lab today. I think I should just stop getting the blood draws. If I miscarry then I miscarry, but this waiting for the numbers to come in is just awful. I'm always on pins and needles. I have an appointment for my OB physical on Thursday so maybe I'll talk to him about it then. Thanks for all of your wishes and prayers---keep em coming. I don't think we're out of the woods yet. 4 more weeks and maybe I'll be able to breathe a little easier. :)
Best of luck hon and let us know what your doctor says.
