I went to my GP this past week because I was ill. I also suspected I was pregnant so they did blood work to confirm. Turns out I have strep and have a hcg level of 505 (estimated 13 days past ovulation).
It just so happens that my daughter needed an e-ray last month and I was 5 days late so I went to have blood work done then too. My hcg level then was 5 -- but I started to bleed heavily the day after they took blood so the doctor assumed I had miscarried early on.
My GP didn't seem to be concerned. I called my OB/GYN's office, and they don't seem to be concerned either, as they seem to think I don't need an appointment until I'm 10 weeks.
Should I be worried? I feel like either this level it too high (even for twins), or too low if is a pregnancy from last month (which I don't think is possible). Six more weeks seems like a long time to wait...
every HCG is different....and as long as the dr says it is good trust them. i am PG and had a period and blood work. i am still PG. some womenWomen's way are low and some are high....it is not the HCG as much as the progesterone level that is important. if your body makes HCG then the progesterone will keep you PG. talk to you dr if you have any concerns....all seems fine to me.
