HCG Levels low! Help!

by zoemom, Dec 01, 2006 12:00AM
Hi there,

So, I'm approximately 4 weeks pregnant. My LP was 10/18, my cycle is 35 days, and I've been confirmed pregnant through a blood test. On Wednesday, I had some brown spotting, which I'm hoping is implantation bleeding. However, I'm really worried about my HCG levels. On Wednesday they were 88, and 36 hours later they were 120. I'm being tested again on Monday. Has anyone had levels like this at 4 weeks and still had a normal pregnancy?

Please respond!
Thanks!

The numbers don't sound bad to me at all!!!  I am 14 DPO and my numbers are 68...  They want me to be at 100 at 16 DPO...so that is what they said is the normal range.... not sure what DPO you are, but they say that the numbers whould souble every 48 hours... yours look fine to me!!  Good luck!!!

You are really eary and I was told by my dr that most ppl have a low hcg level early on in pregnancy.  I'm going to tell you this, but I doubt that you would do it if you're anything like me, but don't worry about the numbers just yet this early on in your pregnancy.  Hang in there girl.  Sometimes I feel like drs try to scare us.  LOL

One more thing...it is customary for drs to measure you every 48 hours and not 36 to make sure that your levels are doubling.

numbers should increase by 66 percnt every 48 to 72 hours.  but thats in 70 percent of cases.  you will be sick if your worry about your numbers constantly.  try not to worry too much.  I know its easier said than done.  I too had a recent pregnancy where numbers didn't double mine did not end well.  but if you look through my posts there were many that did.  good luck  I hope you have a greta pregnancy..  Dana

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the support! I am having quite a bit of spotting this morning - I'm going to keep my fingers crossed!

You sound in good shape to me.

I have much lower levels than you do.   On day 10, I had 27 and on day 12 I had 30.  My guess is that I miscarried/chemical pregnancy.  I'm supposed to go in on Monday for another beta test, but my dh and I have pretty much accepted that it's not happening this month.

Good luck with your pregnancy.
