HCG levels and Progeterone

HCG levels and Progeterone

I have had 2 miscarriages since November so I'm a little freaked out. I am 7 weeks and 4 days. On 7/7 my levels were 699 then on 7/29 my levels were 64784 and progesterone was 13.9. We saw the heartbeat that day and I was exactly 7 weeks. I know that is good but my question is are all my levels rising appropriately? The nurse says its ok but she has been wrong in the past. I have also spotted off and on and I know that can make levels rise a little slower.

Thanks
-Amanda

Hi Amanda,

having gone through my own MC after 11.5 weeks, after 7 years of trying i know how your feeling. The list below shows the levels that are guidelines for each weeks pregnancy.

My doctor explained to myself that so long as the levels are going up that is good, the guidelines in early pregnancy is that they double every 2-3 days, but as you get further into the first trimester, they begin to slow and can take up to 4 days to gain another 60%, but so long as they continue to rise you should be fine.

progesterone levels usually rise between 1 - 3 per day, but that may be deceptive if like myself you did IVF, or are on progesterone supplementation.

Good luck and happy baby dust, we should be having our babies about the same time :P

Guideline to hCG levels during pregnancy:
hCG levels in weeks from LMP (gestational age)* :

3 weeks LMP: 5 - 50 mIU/ml
4 weeks LMP: 5 - 426 mIU/ml
5 weeks LMP: 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml
6 weeks LMP: 1,080 - 56,500 mIU/ml
7 - 8 weeks LMP: 7,650 - 229,000 mIU/ml
9 - 12 weeks LMP: 25,700 - 288,000 mIU/ml
13 - 16 weeks LMP: 13,300 - 254,000 mIU/ml
17 - 24 weeks LMP: 4,060 - 165,400 mIU/ml
25 - 40 weeks LMP: 3,640 - 117,000 mIU/ml

Guideline to Progesterone levels during pregnancy:

• 9-47 ng/ml First trimester
• 17-146 ng/ml Second Trimester
• 49-300 ng/ml Third Trimester

Thank you! I have gotten pregnant the first try the last 3 times so getting pregnant isn't the problem. I just talked to the nurse and last blood work my progesterone was at 14 and is now at 13.9. She didn't seem worried but she said she'll prescribe me supplements. Is it too late or does it seem ok?
