HCG levels drop

Hi, last week i came to know tht i m pregnant, my first HCG blood test result was 31 thn after 72 hrs it was 74 again after 72 hrs it was 138 it got doubled every 72hrs and now when i went again for my blood test it drop to 256. The nurse had called me again for my HCG test after 2days. Why this drop happens and What sholud i accept from this?

Hi!
I am sorry but HCG levels should not drop in early pregnancy. In early days doubling HCG levels are more important than the actual HCG levels. A drop is HCG level is usually indicative of a miscarriage. At times the levels do double up after an initial level. Hence, your doctor has asked for a repeat test after two days. As of now, you can just hope and pray—will do the same for you. Take care!
