HCG levels from shot versus own HCG on HPT

How soon after getting a shot of hCG can I tell when the home pregnancy test is from my own making and not the residual of the test?
I had IUI and a shot this week, and then I take another shot a week later.

I know when I had my IUI I had to wait 2 weeeks and then they did a blood pregnancy test. I do not know when you would be able to do a HPT, I would still be afraid of getting a false positive. It's hard waiting I know! Best of luck!
