HEY GIRLS, THE RESULTS ARE IN!!!!!!

Well, I know everyone is dying to know and have been waiting all day, but it came back negative...I cried because I thought that it would be the real thing but it wasn't. Sorry to disappoint everyone including myself. I called my doctor and she said just wait until next week. So I don't know what else to say.  She also said that my pap came back and it was abnormal, meaning that I may have cervical cancer. I'm so upset. I don't know what else to do? Maybe my HCG isn't high enough. I don't where else to turn

Hey sweetie, sorry you got a BFN! If AF isn't here in a couple of days I would definetly re-test! As far as your abnormal pap... just because it is abnormal does not mean it is cancer! I have had abnormal paps since I was 16 (12 yrs ago) and they have not been able to find out why! I have had 2 babies that are healthy and I am on my 3rd! Keep your head up! Good luck! I hope your HPT had a defect or something ;)

Don't fret over the abnormal pap just yet...I've had abnormal paps in the past, and it turned out to be nothing. They will probably just re-test, and everything will come out fine.

I'll say a prayer, because I know how scary that can be...

I'm so sorry.  I was so excited for you.  Hey, just to let you know my PAPs have come back abnormal for 3 yrs.  It's not cancer...not by a long shot.

You could just have dysplasia and since they now know HPV causes dysplasia which CAN lead to cancer...they treat it aggressively.

Only 1% of women who are diagnosed with dyplasia get cancer.
There are many, many stages between the two.

I have suffered 3 m/c this year and my immune system has been rocked by one pregnancy after another which caused my dysplasia to advance 1/2 a stage from mild to mild-moderate.  I'm scheduled for a LEEP mid-Nov.

I'm sure your dr will discuss all your options but most cases...75% of mild dysplasia goes away on it's own.  Mine has been persistent for 3 yrs that is the only reason I'm getting the LEEP.

I pray that yours clears up on it's own.  Keep taking your prenatal vitamins..it helps fight the HPV, all the folic acid.  Also, I've been told not to go back on the pill either.

So I'll be on prenatal vitamins my entire life and play russian roulette since I can be on the pill....

i'm sorry to hear about your results...and your abnormal pap?  i say don't worry too much over it.  is this your first abnormanl pap?  i too had an abnormal pap just this past summer and decided to wait awhile before doing another pap.  my 2nd pap came out the same so my doctor wanted me to get a coposcopy.  i didn't want to get one, so i decided to wait again and try another pap.  i did another pap last month and the results came back normal.  The doctor said everything looked good!  i was so happy!  maybe you just should just wait awhile and then repeat one again.  our bodies have its own way of doing things naturally.  i'll be thinking of you.

Thanks girls, I can do nothing but say thank you to all the support you have given me these past couple of weeks. Hey! my doctor said that I shold wait a couple of more days, like Monday or Tuesday of next week, so stay updated.

Oooo, I am so sorry about your -. Sometimes the body likes to play tricks on us and mother nature can be a mean B%#*H. As far as the pap, don't get all upset until you know definately whats going on. I have had "abnormal" paps in the past and nothing came of them. I am healthy with 2 healthy DS(s). Good luck, you are in my prayers.                                           P.S. sorry your test was a bfn. years ago i had abnormal paps. i had precancerous cells. they froze them off my cervix. i have since had normal paps and one child. dont fret over this-sometimes tests come back wrong and sometimes your body will correct itself. stay strong!

like everyone else said and abnormal pap does not mean anything. actually a pap smear is just a diagnostic test so if a pap does come back abnormal that means that the doctor has to do other tests. more than likely they will do a colposcopy which is a test where if they see something on the cervix with this microscope type of device they would take a biopsy. I had many abnormal paps and had many colposcopies and turned out to be cervical dysplasia. cervical dysplasia can, but doesn't always turn into cervical cancer and that would be only if the cervical dysplasia was well advanced. so...with that said, you can have an abnormal pap and then find out that there is nothing wrong.
