They shouldl be able to tell right away if it is twins - if it is two sacs.  If identical twins run in your family - I don't know how well u/s shows that??
Good luck

This is from www.americanpregnancy.org/duringpregnancy/hcglevels.html

Guideline to hCG levels during pregnancy:
hCG levels in weeks from LMP or in gestational age* :
3 weeks LMP: 5 - 50 mIU/ml
4 weeks LMP: 5 - 426 mIU/ml
5 weeks LMP: 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml
6 weeks LMP: 1,080 - 56,500 mIU/ml
7 - 8 weeks LMP: 7, 650 - 229,000 mIU/ml

So, yes, you're a little high for being only 4 weeks along.

Just to give you a little different perspective on things, at 6wks my level was in the 10,000 range, and I had a gorgeous baby girl. Only one. So even though they are high, it doesn't necessarily mean twins. Good luck to you!

High hcg levels could indicate twins  Im not sure what the number range would be as I never bothered keeping track of any hcg levels while pregnant.

If it runs in the family you could have a chance!
By August you should be about 6-7 weeks  it should show on a u/s two sacs  unless one is in front of another!
My sister just had twins exciting BUT ALOT of work

I went back on Friday to have my blood work done again, and my count was a 33. Doctor said he would have like to seen it doubled in 48 hours. I go back on Monday to do another blood test again. Hoping to see better results, but I feel better than ever.

Hello,
My name is Holly. I am 20 years old. I am planning on going off the pill (i have been on it for 3 years now) in November. I hope to get pregnant right away so I can give the news to my in-laws and my parents as an xmas gift. Do people usually have problems conceiving the first few months they go off the pill? How does it work? I also want to lose weight before I have a baby. As it is I am not comfortable in my skin. If anyone has suggestions or would like to chat, please email me at butterfly_baybee2005***@**** I will respond to everyone!
Also, will you only conceive on certain days of the month? I can use as much information as I can

I have twins. They were monoamniotic, which means in the same sack. It's very high risk and very rare. Getting pregnant right off the pill increases your odds of id twins a little. Other than that, they are a random throw of the dice. Id twins aren't hereditary. Fraternal twinning can be. I also have a singleton, and am waiting on my HCG levels on this newest pregnancy. I am really happy to have that list up above of normal levels by gestational age!

Twins are really hard work, especially the first year, and really fun too. Forget sleep though.

I would recommend anyone with twins or more to join their local mothers of twins or mothers of miltiples group. These women will be your lifeline!!

So I recently found out I was pregnant, thought I was 8wks along, went in for the ultrasound they could not find a heartbeat.  They thought it could be an unsuccessful pregnancy, or the dating was wrong.  She said it measured at 6wks, but I have to go in for another ultrasound in 1 week.  After I left I just kept thinking I was losing my baby, so I called and they had me come in for an hcg test.  I tested at 63,000 does that seem high for six weeks?  I am now wondering if I am having twins?  Any advice, or information would be greatly appreciated.
