HSG results....Blocked right tube...NEED ADVICE

Well I had my HSG today and the results came out that my left tube is fine and my right tube is blocked. The doctor says that I should have the LAP done to try and open the my right tube. Has anyone gone through this procedure? What should I expect and does the LAP really help? Should I get it done or should I just try to conceive with just one tube? Helpppppppp pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeee......

Hi there, I had the lap done back in october cause my right tube was blocked. They flushed it out and the dr. advise to try in the next 3 months to get pregnant and I am 3 1/2 months pregnant! Its a tough decision, I was getting frusturated cause I was trying to get pregnant for 1 1/2yrs, I figured I would do the lap and if that didnt work I would try fertility treatments.
Good luck with your decision.

Yeah I had a misscarriage in 8/2005 and havent been able to conceive since then. So you did the LAP and were able to coceive fairly quickly? So even though with one tube working properly it is very difficulty to conceive do you think?

CONGRATS on your pregnancy!!!!! I wish you lots of luck...

I had lap done in December to remove adhesions on the outside of my tubes, and I got pg the first cycle after that. Just make sure you're in the hands of a good surgeon when you have it done.

I hate to post about my situation and instill any kind of false hope to someone else, as I know we are all different. So please keep that in mind when reading my story.
I had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy in my right tube, and because of the nature of the rupture and the severe bleeding, my tube was poorly repaired. A few months later I had an HSG, which showed a 100% blockage in my right tube (most likely from scar tissue and/or the way it was repaired. It also could have been a pre-existing condition, since I had an ectopic. Anyway, I was presented with the same option - surgery to open the tube. I chose not to have the surgery, since my left tube appeared healthy and open. A few months later, I became pregnant, again. Unfortunately, it was another ectopic pregnancy, only this time it was in my supposed "good" tube. I was devastated. At this point, I thought I would need to pursue IVF to have the child I longer for - but that would not happen. I got pregnant 6 months later with a healthy uterine pregnancy. And because I was seeing an RE, it was determined at an early u/s that I ovulated from my right side and my left tube picked it up. I gave birth to a healthy son nine months later, and it gets better. I am pregnant, once again, and entering into the second trimester. It feels like a miracle, and I feel blessed. I must say, though, that my RE was NOT surprised that I had a healthy pregnancy without fertility treatments, he said that many women have uterine pregnancies with one tube, even after an ectopic pregnancy. Again, I don't want to instill false hope, but I do want to share a positive story. I wish you the best.

I had an HSG in October 2006 and I was also diagnosed with a blocked right fallopian tube, a hydrosalpinx.  I had laparoscopic surgery to burn off the tube January 2007.  I am now 5w 2d pregnant, but my doctors fear it may be an ectopic on my left side.  My hcg level is currently 8664.
