Hard time potty training

I have a 3 year old son, who is smart and adorable. I have been trying to potty train him for the last 6 months and it is not working at all. Every time he goes either number 1 or 2. in his diaper, he tells me. I try and rush him to his potty but whenever he gets naked *diaper off* and even close to the toilet without a diaper on he screams and cries. If tried offering him rewards for going potty on the toilet..I am a single mother trying to do this and no one in my family has boys except me, so I need some suggestions...PLEASE!!! I need him potty trained so he can go into daycare and later pre-school

I'm sorry, but you sound like you started too early, and getting into a struggle with him will cement the stress into place and make things happen slower.  Boys without an older sibling to role-model for them are often later, like age 3 1/2 or more, before they get it all together on the potty.  Look up some of the potty training websites, they have good information.

My son was also 3 1/2.  He was plenty smart enough and knew exactly what he was doing, just chose to go in his diaper.  It was so frustrating!  Finally, one day he just decided to use the potty, and that was that.  As much as you want to hurry him, he has to be ready.  Good luck!
