Has anyone ever been dehydrated during pregnancy?

Has anyone ever been dehydrated during pregnancy?

I'm asking because of this drama that i had last week with braxton hicks at 19 weeks.  The dr. says that it might be dehydrated but, how does one know if they are dehydrated?
And if you have, how did it affect the baby. I'm drinking lots of water but, I just felt a small one AGAIN when i went out for lunch.  The whole weekend I was fine and now, this again.  I called the Dr. already and am waiting for her to call me back.  Anyone experience this ever? Some encouroging words would be great.  Thanks for your help. :-)

What do those feel like?  I get a pull once in a while on my right side but I was told they were round ligament pains?  I know I dont drink enough water. I think I was dehydrated in early pregnancy when I went into the hospital because that was the first thing they did was give me fluids but I think I have been ok since.

I was told once at my appt that I was slightly dehydrated by the doctor.  They tested my urine and told me this.  Other than that I know that being dehydrated can cause contractions tho.  Maybe its just the baby pushing up against you pretty hard?!?!  I know mine does that sometimes.  I think its a BH but I push and its hard and then moves so I know its him.  I do get a lot of BH tho.

I think that what you get is just Round ligament pain.  What I'm getting is very very noticable and is uncomfortable and you feel a ball in your tummy.  I've experienced the round ligaments before and they are very different from this tightening, ball sensation that I'm feeling.  It also happens in the center of my belly, just a bit above my pubic line.

Do you think it could be stress?  If I was fine on the weekend and I even went shopping and carried some bags. I was fine.  Now I get here and all the drama with work is driving me nuts.  I'm wondering if it's stress. I'm trying so hard not to drive myself nuts but I dont know what to do.

Maybe stress, I know when I was admitted to the hospital for the heart thing they kept asking me about my stress level.

well i just had a dr apoinment today. Well really was just going in for my weekly, monday proj. shot. and i was trying to stop my hubbys dog(BOXER) from trying to eat my dog(shih-tuz) and she did stop once i walked outside, and i went to pick up mystic(shih-tuz) and i got all the way back over to the glass screaned door and sassy(BOXER) atacked her again while i was holdeing her. When she jumped upon me to get to mystic she put all 50pounds of her weight into my left side of my stomach. so i kicked her back and hurryed up and got inside.
>my stomach got hard, Jesse-sophia wouldnt move(she had been all morning long bf that)and it hurt like sharp pinching pains all along the bottom.
*so i went to the dr, and the nurse gave me one of my shots, then the dr on call came in and seen me. he checked me out and took her hb, it was 148, at first he couldnt find it and i was about to start crying again. i had been crying all morning long bc she wouldnt move. and at first he couldnt find it. my heart droped. but he found it i just about cryed like it was for the first time.
**then he started to ask is there anything elts. i asked about BH and he said that i just needed more water and do the fetal kick count(i think that is what it is called.) and explained how to do them/it. AND i asked about my headachs and he said that was also lack of water. he was telling me that pregnant weman should drink at the least ONE WHOLE GALLON OF WATER A DAY!! i had no clue that much was needed. ***my hubby is in the army and said they told him that you are usually dehydrated before you even become thirsty. :shurgs sholders:

I dunno whats going on but if i feel it again, I'm bringing my behind to labor and delivery to find out what is wrong.  I'm not taking any chances on these contractions.  I read that Braxton hicks is your body's way of preparing for labor and we all know that this baby is NOT ready to come out yet.

yeah, mine dont feel like a ball but during the night I wake up with a ball like feeling that moves from side to side I think that is just the baby pressing on whatever is there.  It is painful but bearable.  I feel the baby now too and he/she wakes me up.

Do you think I should worry about that pain during the night?  Let me know what your doctor says when you call.

You know what.  I'll describe it to you and you would know if you feel it.  You know how you get a cramp in your calf muscle, well this feels like a big cramp in your stomach but it doesnt hurt.  Its just very noticable.  The ball you feel is probably the baby moving from side to side but, I dont feel that that often.  I also read that babies pushing to hard, can cause braxton hicks too and sex!  I'll definetly tell you what my dr. says.  But I think your fine. I dont know about your pains though.  Is it because you move to fast from one side to the next? That's round ligament too.

if you are dehydrated and that is what is causing your BH contractions then drinking lots of water will help.  If drinking lots of water doesnt help then get your butt to labor and delivery just as you said before.  Take no chances.

Earlier in my pregnancy i felt almost a rolling sensation that could have been braxton hicks or could have been the baby turning.  Now that i am 37 weeks pg and have serious BH i know that what i felt before might have been just my son rolling.  Anyway.. My point is.. Take No Chances.  Better you end up in L&D with an IV and monitoring then miscarrying your baby.. Good luck and i hope you feel better..

Also, try laying down on your left side.. if they dont go away.. well.. you know what to do .. :)

My daughter is 13 weeks along and started having a minor amount of spotting, brownish. She also started getting some mild cramping. She went to her doctor who told her she was dehydrated. The ultra sound showed a strong heart beat, closed cervix and the baby was moving around just fine. She went home and still had cramping. This morning she has a bit more spotting but no cramping. She is scared to death she is going to lose her baby. (so am I)
Any help or reassurance is appreciated.
