Has anyone had issues with HCG not doubling and gone on to have a baby??

Hi, I posted a question about HCG earlier this week, here is the link to my post:
http://www.medhelp.org/perl6/Maternal/messages/45856.html

I am just soooo confused reading all of these posts and hope for some clarification. Here are my recent HCG readings:

11/2: 80
11/10 312
11/16 647

This is my very first pregnancy. I am 28 years old and have been married a year and a half--we were using "periodic condom use" and apparently (with all the cofusion of a move) I got off track in keeping track. :o) Sorry if TMI!!
I had bleeding and apparently an early miscarriage or "chemical pregnancy" but as you can see the numbers are still going up.  To anyone who replied to my other post, yes I might be freaking a little but I also have bronchitis and would like to see about getting an antibiotic on Mon, only not sure what to tell the doc.  Also reading all of what's on here is confusing. One will say HCG sucks and doesn't matter, and don't go by the numbers, and another will place all importance on them. Plus it also seems like most low HCG stories end badly. So all I am looking for is if you have a happy pregnancy story. Even if I go back next week and find that I really miscarried and am not pregnant, it would make me happy to hear that was not the case for someone else. Thanks!

Thanks for the replies ladies! Also mary345, if is not too much trouble, can you recall your level at 8-10 weeks? That is supposed to be where I am. It is very wierd...it seems like my pregnancy symptoms are returning, but I know that 647 is very, very low for how far along I am supposed to be (9 weeks 5 days or 7 weeks 5 days if I ovulated 2 weeks late, which might be a possibility). Reb05 if you get any good news soon be sure to share it with me--I would love to be happy for you!

I am so sorry to hear that!! What a bummer, I hope it goes easy on you. Are you going to try again soon? (Or is that the last thing on your mind...please don't think I don't understand the pain of this one, but if you are trying, may God bless your efforts, and hopefully good news soon!!) I will remember you in my prayers also.

Hello no good news for me to report. I had an u/s and the sac is empty it is a blighted ovum. I am very sad and now just waiting for the m/c to begin. I am so sorry to hear about your pregnancy, but you made the right choice. I will keep you in my prayers.

Ooops. Dumb computer. They didn't see a pregnancy where it should be, only a 1.5 cm "mass" near my ovary that they think is an ectopic pregnancy. My husband was there with me so I decided to get the shot. That was two days ago, we are very saddend but realize at almost 10 weeks the numbers were dismally low and with no heartbeat, etc. I had to do what I did to prevent a rupture. I am very scared now b/c this is my first ever pregnancy and I never want this to happen again, but I know my chances are higher now that it might. I am still having a little pain on my right side, I go in Friday for more lab work and a look at my hCG, pray that it is going down. I don't want another shot. I appreciate the thoughts and prayers.

Thanks for the prayers. I will not be trying again this was not planned but it would of been a great joy. I have 4 children their ages are so spread out due to so many m/c. My children ages are 19,14,7,4. It still is very painful because it would of been one last baby before I get too old. What are your plans? Did you have to get another shot? When you get those shots do you still have a m/c? I think my m/c will start soon I am spotting and my back is very achy. Well take care of yourself and keep me posted.

I didn't see anything on u/s until this week and I am 6 wk 5 days (and even now it wasn't much on the u/s). Most people on this website have said not to even start to worry until after 7-8 weeks. My hcg level was 4300 at 4 weeks and doubled 2 days later, it is now at 78000 so that sounds normal but I would have a good long talk with your doctor.
