Has anyones lil boy needed a Orchiopexy?

Hey all,

Went to DS hospital appointment today, i thought it was about his short fore skin and although he checked that (he said if DS wanted a cercomsisum (sp?) done when he was older, it would be for cosmetic reasons rather than medical). Anywho he checked my DS scrotum and said both hadn't dropped felt around for them and found them in his adomin. (I wasn't aware of this till today, i was told at his 6 week check up all was well just his foreskin). He went on to say he need an operation to correct this as it could cause major probem when he's older.
Any one gone through this?
Can tell me what to expect?

i heard this from my sis in law her boy is 10 years old..and his hasn't dropped yet..and speciallist told her usually they drop or come out until 4 or 6 yrears age(not sure) but since he is 10 yrs old they wanted to corect it by surgery before he is 14 ..so this thing is very normal ya it happened absolutely...so dont wory much it is just a chance that his didnot drop/it will be..or they will fix it without any problem ..take care the baby..if  u athe pedi in detail it will ease ur mind there is nothing to do with health matter ..ask his pedi more questions until then relax

thanks very much, i know he needs the op, but seeing him with tubes and stuff si tiny on a big bed gunna makes me cry :) thanks again. xx
