Have not ovulated since miscarriage in April 09

I have not had a real period since April 2009, I was put on Prometerium for 10 days and had a withdrawal bleed. It was been 12 weeks since my D&C. Should I go on birth control to get my cycles back?

When was the withdrawal bleed? You might be ready to just start up again on your own if it was only about a month ago or less.

I had the withdrawal bleed on July 2 and then had 2 days of spotting on July 25.

In your shoes, I would be interested in having a more complete diagnosis from my doctor rather than sort of just patching things up by putting you on birth control pills. Won't they do any blood work and try to analyze what is going on? You want to rule out PCOS and stuff like that.
