Have you been to a Geneticist?

I'm meeting with my geneticist tomorrow.  He specializes in high risk pregnancies. It will be my first appointment, I'm sure we'll talk mostly about my MTHFR. The nurse on the phone said that the appointment will take an hour.  Do you think they will do any type of exam or is it just to talk (I'm not currently pregnant)? I have a list of questions to ask. If you have been to one what happened at your first appointment?

I went to a Geneticist with my last son.  I was 38 and knew I needed to have a Amniocenteses, but I wanted to see if they could tell us anything before.  They could not help us because my husband was adopted, and he knew nothing about his birth parents.  But they ask a lot of family history questions and then try to determine if your unborn child is at high rick.  I did have my Amniocenteses and it also let us know if there was a possiblty of defects.  Good luck.
