Have you had a VBAC

Have you had a VBAC

I am thinking about having one but I am a little scared about the risks... my c section was 6 years ago due to my dd wanting to come out face first after 36hours of labor...

melimeli i had a c section 9 yrs ago and with regret went with another 4 months ago. i was scared too, would have had to find another dr and just did it anyway.  its much easier the second time around, way easier, now i know that i would never find a dr that would allow a vbac after 2 c's.  i didnt have much support in the choice to try vbac which is another reason i went with my c.  good luck to you in your decision

Mine wouldn't allow it, but I would be scared too. Did you have a bad experience with your first C-section.  I saw my sisters Vaginal birth 4mo's after my c-section and personally, pick the c-section ;) ha ha.!!

I had a c-section in 2001, because his heart rate dropped.  Then in 2004 I decided that I wanted to try a vbac, because labor seem to be going fine.  I had another healthy boy and I got to experience both types of deliveries.  But keep in mind that depending the situation that caused you to have the first c-section to begin with, may be a possible caused as to which your doctor may not allow you to try vbac.  Good Luck.

I had a c-section 11 years ago and then a successful VBAC 20 months later.  I just had another successful VBAC (an easier decision b/c I had already successfully done one)this year.  Part of the decision will be based upon why you had the c-section in the first place -- is it a repeating event (small pelvis, big baby) or something that is unlikely to recur.

Even if you want to do VBAC, some doctors don't perform them.  I have to say my VBAC was wonderful and I was happy to experience a vaginal birth.  My c-section was a bit harder to recover from, but not the end of the world.

If your doc is willing to let you try VBAC, I say to try BUT have a plan of action in case things do not progress as they should.

Good luck!

I had a natural birth for my first... the second was a c section after 36 hours due to her wanting to come out face first.. my obgyn at the time said that I should be able to deliver naturally next time... my obgyn this time says as long as they don't have to induce I can try a vbac...  the internet has just scared me by horror stories of ruptured uterus..
