This sounds like what happened to me when I miscarried naturally. It sounds like you are passing the tissue. Maybe you won't need the D&C afer all. Let us know what happens. Good luck to you.
I just had heavy bleeding for about a week. No "gush" or anything like that. When I went to the bathroom, that is when I passed the tissue. I don't think that you will have a "gush". I think the ibuprofen is a great idea if it is helping you feel better. Hang in there. If you want to talk, email me at danielles@peregrine-companies.com. I am always here.
I agree with Danielle. Not so much of a gush but passing of tissue... It was gray and white and big clots after the little flecks. No D&C - it all passed on its own.
Again, I am very sorry, and I would take Danielle up on her email...it would be nice to have someone to talk to and to ask questions of directly.
I had to wear Always heavy flow pads for the first week after my miscarriage. I was changing the pad every 2-3 hours. It was basically like a regular period. The cramping was the worst part of it though. That was very painful. It was a constant reminder of what happened.
I will try to e-mail you as soon as I gt a chance.
So you were bleeding after you miscarried? I thought the bleeding would finish after it had all passed. Is that not the case?
Yes, please email me. I will be here all day long.
Yes, I bled for a week after I miscarried. It was like having a regular period. Actually now that I think about it, after I stopped bleeding the next period I got was right about 28 days later. So yes, it is like a regular period and you will bleed for about a week. It does suck because you want it over with so you don't have the constant reminder of what happened.
I bled for a few days before I actually passed the sac. I was almost 10 weeks when I m/c my first. You'll know it when you pass it. It will be about the size of your hand and you'll feel it come out. Besides the cramps it will hurt more emotionally than anything else. I had to have a d&c the next day because they wanted to make sure everything had been passed. I'm so sorry for you.
The size of my hand??? This should be interesting/disgusting. Hopefully I will pass it at home so I can show my husband, so he'll know that I wasn't whining about nothing. :) I think emotionally I'm fine now.. I've had 3 weeks to accept it at this point, now I'm just trying to get this over with so we can TTC.
It does sound like you are m/c already on your own. I bled for about 2 weeks and it was really heavy for me most of the time, only a day or two that were light then it just stopped. I had to be careful because sometimes I would gush and soak a pad quickly and it would run down my leg, sorry, tmi. I did call my Dr. about it, but they assured me it was normal and I usually have heavy periods so I wasn't too surprised by it all. Some women barely bleed and others will gush. Maybe since you weren't as far along it will not be as bad for you. I was 11 weeks along and did have blood clots the size of my hand too, it was really uncomfortable, I passed the sac too and it was like a water balloon, then I passed more tissue. It took about 2 days for me to pass all of the tissue and the cramping got better once the tissue was out. Not much you can do for the pain but ibuprofen and the heating pad helped me alot. If it gets bad call your Dr. again and see of they can prescribe something. We see lots of patients get Percocet or something similar for something like that. I didn't even get that kind of pain med after childbirth, but each Dr. is different. Take care.
This was my first pregnancy, so I don't know what to expect, at all. Since I started passing some clots, any thoughts on how long this should last until it all comes out? I'm waiting for the "gush".
The fetal pole was 6 weeks, but the gestational sac was 10 weeks.
What should I expect at this point? I'm at work, so I'd like to be prepared.
