Health Insurance

I know I posted this yesterday, but I wanted to see if I could get more feedback about it.  I am now 6 weeks and I have insurance, but it doesn't cover being pg at all.  Is anyone else in this situation or do you know someone that is?  Any advice?  My fiance just started a new job and isn't covered yet otherwise I would get on his, but I need some now.  Anything will help!
Thanks!

Are you eligible for medicaid?  I think being pregnant might make a difference.  If you can't get coverage you could consider using a birth center.  They are usually cheaper than regular OB care.

Someone else told me to try and do that.  I don't know how though.  I don't even know where to start.

MEDICAID COVERS ALMOST ANY WOMAN WHO IS PREGNANT EVEN IF THEY WOULD NOT COVER THEM B4

I don't really know either.  Look in the Gov't pages of your phone book.  Or look online.  Google medicaid and your state and it will probably take you to something relevant.  Good luck.

Hi, can you go to social services and get MA(medical assistance)?

Even if I get married will that affect it?

If you are married they will count your spouse's income as well as your's when determining eligibilty.  Every state is different though.  I live in Mass. and we have really good programs, they could be better, but they're not bad compared to some places.  The best thing to do is just see what kind of assistance is offered by your state.

In case you weren't able to find the link.  I used to work for United HealthCare in Florida.  I am trying to remember the specifics but I think there are a couple of different programs you may be eligible for.  Income requirements may take a play in your eligibility.

Good Luck

Here's another link.  I think you may be eligible for the HealthyKids program as well.

I have no idea what your income level is though.

Also pecap helps big time.  I dont know if they have that in your area but they will cover your visits and labor and delivery.

Thanks everybody!  I only work one job, so I don't have much as far as income.  I live in Florida.
Thanks again!

O YOU LIVE IN FL...ONE OF THE WORST STATES FOR PUBLIC ASSISTANCE. IF YOU GET MARRIED THEY WILL PUT YOU ON SHARE OF COST FOR YOU WHICH YOU WILL PAY PART ACCRDING TO YOU AND HUBBYS INCOME PUT TOGETHER. OWEVER THEY WILL STILL COVER YOU AND IT WILL PROBABLY BE CHEAPER THAN NOT HAVING INSURANCE @ ALLL.BUT FULL MEDICAID COVERAGE IS BETTER!
