Heartbeat, then no heartbeat

I had transvag U/S at 8 wks LMP and sac fetal pole and heartbeat were detected but then at 9 wks no heartbeat.  Has anyone had that happen and the baby survived?  Has anyone had the fetal heartbeat detected again at a later date after no heartbeat?

I had my u/s at 7 weeks and heard all 3 heartbeats - went for my 8 week u/s and they only heard 2 heartbeats - we go tomorrow at 9 weeks to see if we hear 2 or 3 so we are keeping our fingers crossed that the 3rd was just hiding - keep your fingers crossed and I'll let you know what happens.

Did they tell you what the heart rate was at 8 weeks?

I had this happen -- they didn't tell me the rate, but I think it must have been slow -- and then no heartbeat.  I followed up and got a second opinion, but ended as a missed m/c.  I hope that's not the case for you.

Are they checking your HCG levels?  What type of follow up are you having?

I had that happen with my 2nd pregnancy. I went in for an u/s at 8 weeks. I started spotting the next day and they did another u/s and the heart had stopped beating. I waited 2 weeks to m/c naturally but nothing was happening so I opted for a d&c. I wish you good luck with a happy outcome.
