Heat Rash?

Heat Rash?

so aubree has been home for a couple of hours now and i just went to check on her and her forehand is covered in little red/brownish bumps and it looks like it is on her chest as well.. there are a whole bunch of them.. i checked her arms and legs and there are a few bumps that look like pimples but nothing like what is on her chest and forehead.. is this just heat rash?  I am just terrified its something else like an allergic reaction to the meds.. if anyone knows or has seen anything like this please let me know so i can ease my mind.. im sure its just heat rash but i just have never seen anything like it before

Sorry, but it sounds like an allergic reaction to the antibiotics to me. She didn't have it in the hospital at all? Is it really hot out? Has she been sweating?

my little one has the same thing right now....She isn't on any meds, so i just assumed it was heat rash.  I would check with a Dr. just to be safe since she has had so many issues lately.

no she didn't have it in the hospital at all.. yeah its like 83 degrees outside .. she wasn't really sweating but i mean it is hot outside.. i checked her breathing and it sounds normal and shes got a low grade fever 99.4 but thats from her fighting the infection.. she started the oral meds 2 days ago ..  and they also have us putting debrox in her ears.. which is an ear wax softner.. we just started that last night.

Hmm...I guess I would call the doctor that released her, or her pediatrician just to be on the safe side after all that has happened! I hope it's just heat rash though. But, even if it is an allergic reaction they may just switch her antibiotic and put that on her allergic list.

I would call her pediatrician.  Only because she's been out of the hospital fighting an infection, so I would be extra cautious.  It may be an allergic reaction but I would call just in case.

They want me to bring her back in just to make sure its not an allergic reaction.. so once again we are headed in to see her ped. I really think it is a heat rash and kind of feel silly for taking her in and I told him that but he said better safe than sorry and told me to never feel silly when it concerns Aubree..  So off to the ped for 'a check-up'.

Take no chances! Call your doctor! It is always better just be extra cautious being that she was just released from the hospital.

Poor Aubree, hopefully she will be back to "normal" in no time!

My son had a rash after a few days in hospital with a fever, the hospital said it was because he had had the fever and was common. That said I would phone the hospital she was in, you can't be too careful.

they said that they think its a viral rash... i guess babies get them after they have been fighting a virus or illness.. but just on the safe side they switched her meds.. they couldn't rule out allergic reaction thats why they switched her antibiotics just to be on the safe side..  they checked her oxygen saturation and it was still at 98 so all is good there.. they gave us a script for her diaper rash ( she has been having diarrhea so she has a wicked bad diaper rash)  and told us to just feed her pedialyte for the next 24 hours because she is having such bad diarrhea.  they set me up an appointment for wednesday just to check on her progress. So everything is good.

I am glad you got her checked out!!! Hopefully her rash will clear soon. It sounds like poor Aubree is going through quite a lot.  Poor little thing!

Glad to hear nothing is serious and that her o2 levels are still great!!!!!!!

how are you holding up?  You need rest too-  get some family to come over and help out with her... now that she is out of the woods-  Taylor was in the hospital at 12 months old for 3 nights with rotovirus...  it was very tiring, and I wasn't in the first trimester of a pregnancy!

Glad she is doing better!
