Help me please

My baby is 6 weeks old she have these spells where she turn red in the face and get real stiff. It look like she trying real hard to breath it take her a min to come out of it and when she do her spit is real thick and i have to clean her mouth and nose. i took her to the doc and they told me to put cereal in her milk she don't spit up but she still have these spells. Can someone please tell me what's wrong with my baby?

I think you need to get a second opinion from another doc. It is highly unusual for a doc to recommend putting cereal into an infant's milk at 6 weeks of age. It is possible your baby has colic, constipation, reflux, has extra fluid in her nasal passages or is just trying to catch her breath or sucking in breath before a crying spell. It might be wise to to get a doc to listen to her chest, take a look at her mucus (just to make sure it is clear in color & not anything that needs watching). You can try putting a baby humidifier in her room or place her in the bathroom when you get a bath or shower so that clears her out a bit more. If they are concerned about reflux, your baby will do better if she is held in an upright position after feeds, is gently burped and works out all the gas before lying down. The warmth of your body also helps (even if you place her against you naked and then wrap a blanket around you both for warmth), along with swaddling her (if is is colic and she is miserable).
