Help potty training

I have a 2 1/2 year old daughter. I started potty training her 6 months ago by putting her on the potty several times a day. She would go in the potty 1 to 2 times a day. Recently I decided to try to fully potty train her. I put her in just underwear and let her run around the house. Its been three days now and she still going only 1 to 2 times a day in the potty. The rest of the time she pee's in her underwear. I keep reading about how this is supposed to work after she goes a few times, but its not. Twice she went to the potty by herself and went pee, but the other times she peed in her underwear and then told me she had to go. What should i do next?

Stop trying to potty train completely, so early.  You had success with the active method, either stick with it or let her wear pullups if you are tired of having to put her on the loo several times a day.  When she is old enough, she will do it herself, and if she is not old enough, putting her in underpants is not going to help and you'll just frustrate yourself over cleaning up after her.

Surprising a lot of children are not fully trained until they are 3 or so.  The problem is that culturally we seem to expect  our children to be trained at 2.

We always hear a parent say my child was trained at 2 in a bragging way.  We seldom or never hear someone say my child is 3 and just potty trained.  Why??  Two is the norm (socially) and 3 is for some reason considered too old.

Every child is different and 3 is not too old.  I agree with Annie....go back to what was working.  Otherwise, back off and try in a month or two.

here is one guide to give you more info.  It is a readiness checklist.
