Help with Vomiting

hi..my baby was diagnosed with reflux at 2 months and the doctor switched him to soy and put him on prevacid and zantac...he got no better and screamed and cried for several months-at 6 months i took him back and threw a fit telling the drs there was somthing wrong with him and they finally sent me to have an upper gi-which showed he didnt have reflux!  so i stopped the meds and they put him on Nutramagen..his mood immediately got better-he is a hundred times happier-but he is still vomiting all of the time..30 times a day..so my doctor said to stop giving him milk and just give him pedialyte to see if he can keep it down.  so since yesterday all my 6 month old has had to drink is pedialyte..i called the dr today and she said to keep him on it a few more days then try nutramagin again and see if he keeps it down.i think this is insane!  Im so sure the nutramagin is whats making him puke..because ive read that alot of babies with milk soy intolerance cant handle the nutramagin very well.  Id like him to be sent to a specialist and have us try Neocate.  But she keeeps putting us off like its going to go away on its own..Its frustrating...anyone have any suggestions?

I would try Good Start before giving up on formula altogether.  It's really gentle on the stomach.

Is he vomiting, or is he spitting up?  A child who "vomits" 30 times a day needs to be in the emergency room immediately.  A baby who spits up 30 times a day is a spitty baby.

majority of the time its vomit..when he was on soy formula id say it was spit up..but with the nutramagin theres alot everytime...but with the pedialyte he doesnt puke it up at all..the doctor knows that he was vomiting that much and just said to stop giving it to him for now and just give pedialyte..she thinks it may be a stomache virus..but i really dont think so..Ive thought about taking him to the emergency room but like i said my doctor knows this..ive been talking to her everyday about it.

Vomiting is the entire emptying of all the stomach contents. It is usually quite forceful.  A baby who vomits 30 times a day is seriously ill.  Dehydration will be evident, the infant will be weak and lethargic, will appear very ill, will stop urinating, and the skin will be very slack and loose.

Spitting up happens soon after eating (usually) and is generally a portion of the last bottle taken.

An infant who is vomiting 30 actual times a day needs to be seen.  Immediately.
