High HCG Level at 8 weeks

High HCG Level at 8 weeks

Hello,

I was at the ER 2 days ago because of some red bleeding and mild cramps. I got a little freaked out and headed in just to be sure everything was alright since I hadn't had an ultrasound yet.

They saw a heartbeat of 167 and sent me home basically saying I was alright.

They also sent me home with a sheet of paper with my blood test results, and one of the categories was marked as abnormal but they didn't mention it to me to be worried.

At 8 weeks 0 days my HCG level was 440985.Should I be worried? I have an appointment in 5 days for my first prenatal visit, so it is with a different doctor and I can try to ask him about it then.

I have also been having some red bleeding, but not too much, even though at times it looks kind of thick or clot like (sorry if that was too much info).

I am 28 years old and this would be my first baby.

Thanks for any comments.

I'm sure they would have told me if it was multiples as well. I saw the ultrasound, and I am no ultrasound tech, but it looked like only one bean was hiding in there.

Has anyone ever heard of a single baby being born healthy with HCG levels over 440,000 eight weeks along?

I am just anxious and I doubt my doctor will even be able to tell me anything (I am still waiting for a referral to an OB doc)
