High Platelet Count in Infant

High Platelet Count in Infant

Hi, my adopted 4 month infant had a blood test in March and came back with a high platelet count (1130).  We re-tested a month later and it had gone down to 980.  Everything else seems normal.  We think she could have had an infection, but are unsure. Any advice?  Since it seems to be going down, should I be worried?

My 10 week old also has a high platelet count (900,000) when she appears to be normal.  Her WBC count is elevated too and has been for a few weeks now.  The doctors say they are baffled...we are going to a new doctor on Tuesday.  I was actually searching the web for possible answers when I came across your post.
