High Pulse

by mkseym, May 31, 2007 12:00AM
I have a quick question.  I have been dizzy on and off throughout this pregnancy...normal I know.  My concern is last night I got really dizzy to the point of feeling sick.  I laid on the couch with a cool washcloth and it helped but am still dizzy today...more than normal.  I noticed that I took my pulse today several times and it is always about 115-120.  I know your pulse gets higher when you are pregnant but just wondering if this is to high and explains the dizziness.  What are your pulse rates in pregnancy.  BTW I am 34w1d.  Thanks!!

Your pulse does tend to go up with pregnancy. Also, your requirements for water does. You can dehydrate really fast since your blood supply is increased. I would call your dr and get a blood pressure check to be on the safe side. Cut out caffeine if you haven't already. Best wishes to you.

I've been having problems with my pulse throughout this whole pregnancy. Mine will get around 115-120 as well, but mine does it when im resting or right after i eat. It makes me feel like I just ran a marathon. I am not a normal OB patient however. I have other difficulties, but as for a normal OB patient they say yes it is common for your pulse to jump 10-15 bmp however it SHOULD NOT cause you any symptoms and if it does you need to say something to your OB. There are things that they need to look at and might even refer u to a cardiologist to make sure things are fine, do tests, EKG things like that. So If I was you I would definitely say something to my OB and soon.
