High Temperature during pregnancy..?

Hi.

I have been reading some of the posts on here about tanning beds and how the reason it is dangerous is because there are risks of miscarriages with raising your body temperature too much. Are the risks the same with just a high body temperature normally? Should you always try and keep cool and stay out of the sun? I'm a little confused because you are supposed to do light exercising while you are pregnant which obviously raises your body temperature but everyone here seems to be saying that is a bad thing!??..
Thanks
Donna

i think ur temp should never get  over 100.9 when pregnant. Tanning beds in my opinion are bad for other reasons as well.

Thanks, though why else is tanning bad whilst pregnant? I am not actually a tanner myself, I was just wondering about the temperature thing, though I would like to hear other reasons just for curiousity's sake! :)

My doc sent me to the hospital when I had a fever of 101, and he makes me call him if my temp is ever over 100.4, so yes, keeping your body temp stable is VERY important because your baby can't regulate its own body temp.

Ive heard different conflicting stories, but in my opinion its the radiation. I knew a lady who tanned regularly while pregnant, her child came out with birth defects.

There hasn't been any definitive research, but a temp over 100.5 in early pregnancy has also been linked to spina bifida.

Anything that raises your core body temperature (~101 F or higher) is a risk factor during pregnancy.

Strenuous exercise, fever from an illness, hot tubs etc. are all things that can raise your core temperature.
