High platelet counts in infants

High platelet counts in infants

My child had her 6 month regular blood test done and the results showed a high platelet count of 940,000.  Our Dr suggested that we run the test again in one week to see if it was an error, however the count came back at 1044,000.  My 6mo clilds white blood count is fine along with her C-reactive protein and the "sed" count.  Should I be worried that her platelet count is so high when the other blood counts are normal and she is showing no symptoms or distress?
