Holding my breath....

Doctor is supposed to call me today with results from my blood test. I am now 15 days late. Breasts still very (VERY!!) tender, exhausted, nauseous off and on all day... and yet I had 2 HPT negative! Perhaps I tested too early? Perhaps my cycle is off? ARGH! This is frustrating.... I want to know!

I spoke to my hubby about it on the weekend... he said he would not be upset in the least if we had another baby. Even at our age (I just turned 46!) and that he would consider a baby a blessing and a gift. Have I told you I adore my husband?

Anyway, Still not sure... and all this could be in my head - it could be the beginning of menopause!  

What do you think ladies? Being an older mom, I'm really a bit nervous!  At this point, I really really want this to be true! That I am pregnant!  But part of me is scared to death as well!

LOL-You're first post about this seemed to be very nervous, now it seems almost hopeful! :)

Well, I guess pregnancy would be better than menopause right! One keeps you young and the other, well....you know! ;)

Anyway, listen to your DH. It would be a blessing and a baby meant to be! And don't worry. MY step-mother had her first baby 2 yrs ago and she was in her 40's and my lil sis is perfectly healthy and beautiful!

Thanks Kassimom,  Yes, my first post was all about nervousness!  Scared to death (lol....)  But now... hmm... now I'm nervous for different reasons.. I want so much to be pregnant now!  This is a second marriage for both me and my husband... it would be our first baby together.  We discuss this befor we were married and both decided that at our "ripe old age" we would be fine without any new babies... but now..AAHHHH.... NERVOUS... EXCITED... and SCARED!  

Waiting patiently (okay, maybe not so patiently) for that phone call!

Well, not saying you should do one or the other but it was my dad's and step mom's second mariage as well and I know they did ALOT of soul searching before having thier little girl. And now they both say they don't regret it or would they ever change it!

(Of course, what parent would? LOL)

Ummm, there are all kinds of things you can do. I put the + hpt in a gift bag once. The next time we were just laying in bed cuddling and I told him, he said he already new. Well, what about two balloons, it's a girl and it's a boy in your bedroom when he goes in. Ummm, a card with a little note in it. A bottle of baby champange at dinner? If I think of any more I will let you know.

Congratulations on your BFP. I am supposed to get my blood results today as well, but so far no phone call. The doctor thinks that because I have PCOS my ovulation might be off. Does this mean that I might have to wait longer to find out? I am on day 33 of my cycle, but I am not sure how long my cycle should be since I went off the patch 5 months ago.

Thank you EVERYONE!  I'm still in shock.  You think you are totally prepared for the news and then BAM... it comes and you realize you are more excited than you thought.

Okay... my husband's birthday is this week... I wonder if I can hold off long enough, and "try" to act normal until then?  

To: Kimbo... my cycle was sooo off that's why I wasn't sure.  After all, 46! It could have been menopause! My LMP was March 21 but I was still getting negative HPT's at one week late.  I even tried the First Response one - the one that tells up to 4 days before.  Didn't work.  All HPT's (2) were negative.  Blood test is still the best way!  

Even though my HPT's were negative, I still felt very pregnant... all the signs, symptoms.  

thanks to everyone.. really... you've been so encouraging.  I'll stick around and watch everyone else's progress, and report on mine as well.

I'm about 10 weeks and the never ending peeing hasn't stopped for me yet!  Consider it normal!!

Congratulations!!!!  You are much stronger then me if you can keep from telling your husband until his birthday. I love the great ideas and stories people share about breaking the news, but I couldn't even wait to exit the bathroom before I called my husband to tell him, I know how un-creative!  No matter how or when you tell him, I'm sure he'll be thrilled.  Again, Congrats!!

wowowowowow - goosebumps over here too.  Even tears in my eyes.  I'm so excited for you.  Oh your DH will be so excited I'm sure too.  I know a few moms that started in their 40's and they are as young as ever... WAY TO GO!!

I think part of your story encouraged me too, bc i'm feeling pregnant but HPT said BFN...maybe there's hope for me.  I'm impatiently waiting...whether it be AF or a BFP that comes my way...I want to know NOW.
