How do I get him to stop???

How do I get him to stop???

My 15 month old son will not quit pulling out the plug protector things.  He pulls them out and puts them in his mouth.  I even catch him trying to put his finger in the outlet.  How do I get him to quit this?  I tried blocking it, but he figured out how to still get to it.  There are too many in the house that cannot be blocked, so he has access to them.

if hes pulling them out--i dont think theyre protecting the outlet!!! (kinda a waste?)--you could either do away with them, or maybe tape them with packaging tape--one big strip to hold them in place so he wouldnt be able to get them out

We got them for free, so it isnt too bad for cost.  I will have to have my husband buy some tape.  My sister in law had to do that bcuz her son did the same thing.  Thanks for the tip.

Look at these, something like this may help.  They also make plane covers, but if you use them you won't be able to plug anything in.  I got these w/ Jack and they did well.  : ) Hope your good, I'll e-mail you later!

the childproof stuff just amazes me---i gave up on it along time ago--i had a kitchen full of doors with the little latch things on them---i think my kids could get them open easier then i could!!!

Yea my son figured out how to open a door in our living room.  Now he is getting good at opening up the doors.  I am just waiting for him to start climbing over our gates.  We had to lock him out of the kitchen because he always got into everything.

WhatYouMakeMe:  I looked at that website.  Them things look really cool.  I will have to show Jeff that when he gets home tomorrow.  Talk to ya later.

They were a life saver for me, Jack was a quick little sucker!!  (And I only had him at the time.  You have two!)  I'll be buying more of these myself soon.  Its a little bit more expensive then the plastic covers, but its worth it to me.  I'll pay a few extra bucks for some peace of mind and safety.

Yea.  I would rather be broke than have something happen to my child because one of them decided to put tweezers or a fork in there.  That would be so scary.

at daycare centers they use a different outlet cover. similar to this: http://www.kidsmartliving.com/seloutcovsta.html

i've never seen a child get it open, but an adult can quickly plug something in. i'm going to buy some for my home before dd is mobile.

home depot is actually great for that stuff.  There is a really big kind that is really hard to open even for adults then there are ones that are the size of the outlet cover plate (just enough to cover the hole in the wall if you take the plate off of the wall)  they work the best.  they are easy for adults.  basically the hard ones have ridged finger tabs and the easy ones are smooth all over.  i know it doesnt make much sense on here but if  you look at them in the store you may find it helpful.
