I just wanted to see what your ladies responses are and how long it took to conceive? My husband and I are still worried about TTC again because we don't want to go through another miscarriage.
Thanks,
Van
I have 2 boys and 1 mis (1 healthy full term pregnancy after the mis) I am now pregnant with my third. When I had my mis the my doctors recommendation was to wait 1 full cycle after the miscarriage before trying again as long as the pregnancy ended naturally (meaning no D&C required). I believe they recommend 3 cycles if medical intervention was needed but I am not 100% certain. We started trying right after the 1st full cycle but did not get pregnant until 4 months later, we had actually made the decision to stop trying for a while it was a very emotional time and ended up missing my period that month.
I had an ectopicEctopic pregnancy pregnancy in 1997 and got pregnant 3.5 months later with my son. I had 3 healthy babies after him and then suffered 2 early miscarriages. It took me about 5 months to get pregnant with my daughter after the 2nd early miscarriage.
Every Dr is different. With my first m/c my dr said to wait 3 months. Then Boom I was preggo (this was a healthy one a I had a boy). Then I had another m/c and my dr advised 3 months again, we tried after that and NOTHING (I wasnt Oing so I had to go on Clomid), 3 months later I was preggo (this was healthy too, another boy)!! So with the last one it took me 6 months to get preggo. Now i have 2 healthy boys and that is all I am having I think.
Good luck! It will happen for you when you least expect it!!
i misscarried in december. i had a d&c. my doc advised me to wait one full cycle to start ttc. if you try within the first two weeks after there is a very high risk of infection.
the reason for waiting is to date the pregnancy and also to allow you to mentally heal.
i conceived after my first af and am now 5 months with twins. and they are doing excellent.
i was reassured over and over that i had no higher risk of misscarriage than anyone else in my age and health bracket.
I m/c without a D&C and my Dr. said I could start as soon as the m/c bleeding stopped, but said it's easier to date if you have 1 af. I got pregnant after 1 af and little Cameron is 7 weeks old now. I had a very healthy prenancy and he was good sized, smaller than the first, but induced early to prevent another 10 lber. You should try when you feel ready, good luck.
My doctor said after a d&c at least have 1 period as the uterus is completly scraped out and it can be hard for it to implant. He said the lining needs time to build back up.But for a natural miscarriage i would think whenever you are ready emotionally
Thank you everyone. It seems like everyone is different, as it should be. My dr put me on "pelvic rest" (so politically correct!) for 2 wks (if I am done bleeding). I go to the Dr on June 4th, so I think I will wait to see what the Dr says as well. I want to try again, but I am soooo scared.

my re said to wait two full cycles before trying again. we did that and tried femara with HCG trigger on third cycle after m/c. got the bfp first try. so far so good but only at 4w5d!
I've posted this before to many others so sorry to repeat if you saw it but I had 3 early m/cs from May 2006 to Sept 2006 and now am pregnant in week 35 with conceiving successfully right after that last m/c. I was 36 then and now 37 years old so I was eager to keep trying and not wait in between as risks of another m/c and/or genetic problems with baby would have increased longer I waited ttc again. Some doctors had told me to wait in between but my OB agreed with me to keep trying and not wait as my m/c were early (5 to 7 weeks) and no D & C. It made me feel better emotionally to keep trying as well. Once I waited one cycle in between m/cs but had another m/c so didn't make a difference. I kept track with at home ovulation tests so helped me know how early mc/s were and ttc so soon again. Don't give up and have faith as I went through 3 and now due in June with my baby!
hello all. i am new to this site. i suffered my 3rd miscarriage in march this year. me and hubby waited for 1 cycle of menstrual before trying again. well we fell straight away in april. but now i feel as though i am going through yet another miscarriage now. i have all the signs. im bleeding and cramping. bleeding is not to heavy but i saw a few small clots here and there. i went to the doctor yesterday and she could see a small sac. im not sure how far along i am because she said the period i had in april may have not been a true period. she did say i was very early and my uterus looked fine. i dont know how to interpretate that seeing as how i have already suffered 3 early miscarriages and this doesnt feel any different. has anyone had any bleeding and cramping (not just mild cramping) during first trimester and everything turned out okay?
Good luck! It will happen for you when you least expect it!!
