How many c-sections?

by hu73, Jul 23, 2007 08:41AM
Hi all!

After having had a miscarriage due to small gestational sac syndrome in Feb. I am pregnant again.  I have two other children both of which were delivered by c-section.  Another post raised a question.......How many c-sections are safe and does the scar area become stronger if there is a greater time span in between procedures?  My first two girls are 17 months apart and my youngest daughter will be 26 months when this baby is born.(knock on wood!)  Do I have less of a chance of rupture because the procedures are farther apart?  Hope this makes sense!

My friend had 3 c-sections with no complications.  Her two DD's are 2 years apart.  Her youngest and the one before that are 16 months apart

I have had two but one scar is up and down the other right above my air line.  It is very crazy looking.

Congrats hu73 - I remember you from February because I had a miscarriage then too (my second one).  I had been wondering how you were doing or if you were still around these boards.  I am also preggers now too!  How far along are you ???  When is you due date?  I am due Jan 23rd-24th.  I don't know much about c-sections though because this will be my first baby!!  Congrats again and best of luck!!

My Aunt had 4 but they told her she had to stop having kids after that. They were each a year apart. Best of luck to you!!

I had 2 c-sections (one up and down scar and one bikini), between my last c-section and my VBAC the time span was 2 years and 1 month. The VBAC was wonderful :-). I know alot of ppl are going to think I'm crazy for this, but I had 2 more sections after that because my new Dr couldn't find my records proving that I had the right type of incision on my uterus (even though the birth before that was vaginal), but I am thinking of trying a VBAC again after 4 sections. I've been doing alot of reading on the web and I know there are woman (lots) who have done it after 4. I even read an account of a woman having a VBAC after 7 (!) sections!!! I really hope there is some hope for me to do this....especially since this will be my last baby.
