How much bigger?

How much bigger?

Ok, this weight issue is really getting to me not to metion how big my belly is.  I mean how much bigger can I get.  I am 32w today and I am hugh.  I weighed in last night at 184.  That is 48pounds so far. How much bigger to you get after 32w?  Doesn't growth slow at this stage?  I can't bend down hardly any more.  My mar. clothes are getting tight - they are larges and now I'm getting into the XL sizes.  This baby better be big :-)  Anyone else having these problems?

I feel for you.  I gained 42 pounds and went into labor at 36 weeks.  Fortunately, everything was fine with DD.
I bought some XL the week before I went into labor (thinking I had four weeks left).  I never got to wear any of it.  It was pretty funny, I was so self conscious about the wait and the size of my belly, that when I bought the last set of clothes, I made a comment to the salesgirl- that I am in trouble becasue after XL what am I going to fit into...she said 1X.  I said if I have to fit in 1X due to my pregnancy, I will not leave the house.  Please, I hope no one takes offense to that...it was just me being all emotional at the time.

BTW, my daughter was 8lbs 3oz at birth, so thank goodness she came early otherwise who knows what her weight would have been or mine for that matter.
I lucked out, I went back to my pre pregnancy weight (actually under my pre pregnancy weight) within four months.

I know it is hard, but it will all be worth it in the end.
Good Luck

I hate to tell you this but if you go full term expect your belly to get A LOT bigger.  My belly grew the most in the last two months.  That's when the baby puts on all their weight.  i gained 36 lbs and my dd only weighed 7 lbs and everyone thought my stomach was huge!  I sympathize with you!

You'll probably gain another 8-10 pounds, and it won't be all baby.  One of the joys of childbearing, unfortunately.

I recently flew at 23 weeks and had a hard time fitting in the tiny bathroom.  I am frightened at how big that bump is going to be at full term.

yikes.

I'm sorry to tell you that I asked the same question about 2 months ago and boy, what a surprise I had in store. I think I had a huge growth spur from around 30 weeks to now (39) the baby is gaining weight constantly now, and so my belly like doubled in size and then dropped a bit.  Also, toward the end, I started swelling (starting last week) and I gained 5 lbs in a week. I'm sure it was due to swelling because I didnt eat enough to gain 5 lbs.  Good luck and I hope you dont gain to much more.

I am 31w4d and I havent put on as much as you have (only 19lbs, but I am probably shorter too) but I know what you mean cause my maternity pants are getting tight too!  Only one pair is truly comfortable.  At home, I wear my husbands pants/shorts sometimes!  They are about a foot too long, but comfy in the waist! :)

I think everyone is different when it comes to putting on weight during pregnancy...

A friend of mine gained almost 50 lbs in her pregnancy, but didnt put on any weight after the 32nd week!  Maybe your weight gain will slow down, but be prepared to probably still put on a few lbs...

My belly is  46 1/2 around.  I walk everyday 30min.  Maybe I'm putting on muscle ha that is what I'm going to tell myself - now that is funny right.  No I'm not eating the greatest.  I'll eat good all day long and in the middle of the night I'll get junk food - I know what a time to pick to eat that ****.

With my third son, I didn't even look pregnant until my last trimester, which surprised me. I had people all aorund me floored when I told them I was pg, let alone that I was 20+ weeks along. But in the end, I popped out quite a bit. With my first two boys I gained roughly 50 lbs with each, with my third I gained under 30 lbs and he was the biggest one. My first was 8 lbs 5 oz, second was 8 lbs 7 oz, and my third was 8 lbs 14 oz

Just curiousity, when you go to the drs office, and they measure your stomach, how big do they get?  That might help you figure out if you have a big one in there :).  I have only gained about 12 lbs, I am due the 18th of June, but the doctor told me yesterday I was measuring 36 weeks (was 33 weeks even) and that with my history of big babies, he would start sending me for u/s and NST the last week of May a couple of times a week, but I should be induced by 6/07, maybe she will come on her own though.  I know today my stomach has taken on a whole different shape and that concerns me, everyone says my tummy looks "flabby", in other words a lot lower is what they are saying, what could that be?  Anyone have any idea?   I know I should know by now, seeing how this is baby #5, but I don't remember ever hearing such a remark....LOL.  Any insight would be greatly appreciated.  Anyway, best of luck to you and keep me posted on your progress.

I'm 34w5d and that far I gained a total of 20 pounds. Everybody around me is telling me that I should eat "healthy" and go out for a walk (which to me means "you're eating way too much"). It's frustrating. Calm down, soon it'd be over and you'll get back in shape soon. It's easy to loose weight in the summer.

Do you ladies measure your bellies?
At 34w5d-mine is exatly 45 inches.
What about yours?
It'd be great to compare. I aways feel like my belly is too small.

With my first one I got huge, and he was over 10 lbs. plus I had a lot of water, I had gained 23 lbs. , but I went from not needing maternity clothes till 7 months to growing out of them the last few weeks.  I did not look really big though till the last month.  I got all sorts of comments about having twins, being overdue...it was tough.  I lost all of my weight by 2 weeks post partum, and began to lose weight the last few weeks of pregnancy.  I didn't gain anything from 36 weeks on.  With baby #2 I really didn't get as big, but it does depend on how baby sits.  I was told by many that I looked tiny and people were surprised to learn I was pregnant and when I was due.  (It was nice after my last pregnancy.)  I had a lot of water with this one too, but he was smaller, just under 9 lbs. and tucked way back.  I gained 5 lbs. less with this one and lost it again within 2 weeks, but again I did not gain anything the last month and actually lost 3 lbs. the last month.  Just be prepared, you shoot out the most the last month, but don't necessarily gain weight.  Hang in there, you'll miss the belly when it's gone, I do.
