How much do they eat? 8 months

I know it's different for all babies but how much should an 8 month old eat?  How many ozs of muil and solid?

Hi, we just had our 9mo visit. He said DD should have 24oz milk/day or up to 28. We give dd 3-8oz bottles. She has a bottle and a stage 2 food with rice cereal for b-fast lunch and dinner. Now we are adding finger foods of bananas, green beans, turkey, cheese & a whole lot of puffs throughout the day. She is 19.3 lbs. How about your baby?

Mine nurses throughout the day, and once or twice a day he gets oatmeal (about 1/4 cup) and half a jar to a jar of a fruit or veggie. Some days he isn't interested in the solids, just wants to nurse. In the afternoon/early evening he cluster feeds with a bunch of snack sessions at the breast (loads of fun,lol)

Again, formula/breastmilk is much more important than the solids, so keep that in mind. Don't overload with solids in place of milk.

BTW, mine is a bigger baby, around the 25lb mark and roughly 30 inches long. But he is very mobile, crawling all over and pulling himself up to stand on everything, he will be 8 months on Thursday ; )

My doctor said right now they start to get less milk. My dd drinks 24 oz and he said over the next couple of  months it may become less. He sounds like he is getting plenty of food. Is he acting hungry? How much does he weigh?

Me2momy, how much does Ariella weigh?  The finger foods are a riot! Banana, cheese, turkey, beans, peas, geeeze all food in the hair, what a  mess!!

Going to be gone until Friday, hope I don't miss much!!

Ariella drinks on average 30 oz of formula a day and eats 2-3 jars of stage 2 baby food.  We're gonna start finger foods soon.  Gavin's just not a big eater.  As long as he's doing well otherwise, I would not worry about it.

Well Gavin will be 8 months next Thursday.  He drinks b/w 20-24 ozs of soy formula.  He eats about 2.5-3 cups of congee (creamy/soupy rice mixed with minced meat and veggies) and some fruits.  He is a small baby so I always worried he is not eating enough.  He will not touch cereal or baby jarred food.  I think it's too bland for him.  He is just not all that interested in food.  He acts like he will only eat grown up foods.  Ugh, not sure if I can go ahead and let him try.  When do they start to drink less milk?

Ariella weighs 19 1/2 lbs.  The dr told me she's doing well considering she was born weighing 5.7 lbs.  We have not started with finger foods yet b/c I'm afraid of her chocking on it :(
