Hey everyone. I was hoping you ladies that have delivered could give us some hints as to how you felt the days or weeks before you went into labour. Any real signs? There are a few of us here that are getting pretty anxious. Any imput would be great, thanks!
* did your belly drop
* was the headHead and face reconstruction Head injury Head lice Indications of head injury Radial head injury down at your last appointment
* did you have the urgeUrge incontinence to clean
* did you lose your plug
* did Braxton Hicks get stronger/longer
* did you just feel different
I had all of the above except for the Braxton Hicks.... I never had those with either one of my children....we will see with this one.... And as far as the mucous plus....I never noticed any of that till my water broke which was each time way before my contractionsFetal heart and uterine contraction monitor Fetal heart monitoring Tension headache ever started. I always had this great burst of energy right before....trust me you need it! One thing I noticed with my last one was he started kicking and moving like crazy, you would had thought someting was in there after him, I was like OMG! It hurt because he was a 8lb4oz boy! It was not 1 hour after that happened that my water went pouring everywhere. So guess he was ready to come! Best of luck to you! Danielle
* With DD, I didn't spontaneously lose my plug. After an exam, I went home and had "bloody show". It still took her about 3 more weeks to get here. With this one I lost my plug Friday night.
* With DD, I never once had a Braxton hicks. With this one, I am getting them and yes as my due date appraoches they seem to get stronger and more frequent.
* With DD, I slept the last 4 wks 24/7. I was too tired to do anything. I would wake up only to pee or eat then back to bed. So it was a surprise to me when I woke up one morening at 4 to have fluid leaking out of me. NO gush, just steady leak.
Hope this helps and REALLY hope we both have our babies soon!!!
One thing I noticed when I worked in an OB office, is that usually someone seemed to drop a pound or two the week prior to going into labor, when using the same scale.
TOTALLY unscientific, and probably a doctor would say I'm crazy. But I noticed it a lot of times.
I went 2 weeks over the first time, and 5 days early the next. Can't say I really noticed anything--worked right up until the day before! There is nothing like being hugely pregnant and working nights as a nurse to take your mind off impending labor--except you pray for it as a way to get some time off!
Actually, one of my pregnancy books does mention that your weight either plataeu's or you lose a little right before delivery! :) YAY! LOL
My last two appt's I have been 170....I am probably just fishing here at this point though. I read every symptom of impending labor in every book and TRY to MAKE myself believe I MIGHT have had one or two! LOL
I just thought I would share my own experience:
*my belly never dropped with her, but with this one I feel like he is hanging out in my vagina
*At my appt yesterday the OB insisted his head was high, but again, I can't walk with me legs together soooo.....
*With DD, around 36 wks, I HAD to clean the floors on my hands and knees with a sponge. The mop wasn't doing the job! And I washed her clothes twice. This time I am having the urge to redecorate! LOL NOt a cheap nesting instinct! I also have "needed"t o clean out closets and cabinets. Even wipe down the cabinets with wood oil!!
