IS IT WORTH GOING TO SEE AN OBGYN THE FIRST 3 MONTHS?

IS IT WORTH GOING TO SEE AN OBGYN THE FIRST 3 MONTHS?

I HAD A MISCARRIAGE A YR AGO AND WENT I WENT TO THE OBGYN THE FIRST TIME  AND HE TOLD ME THAT IT WAS TOO SOON FOR AN ULTRASOUND, TOO SOON FOR THIS AND FOR THAT...AND  THAT HE WANTED TO SEE ME ONLY AFTER THE 3RD MONTH....ANYWAYS, I NEVER MADE IT TO THE 3RD MONTH, CAUSE I MISCARRIED, AND HE SAID, THAT IF IT BLED THERE IS NOTHING HE COULD DO, JUST LET NATURE DO ITS THING ...AND I MISCARRIED ON MY OWN!!!

SO I DONT FEEL LIKE ITS THAT IMPORTANT TO GO!! APPARENTLY THEY CANT DO ANYTHING TO US (PREGNANT WOMAN) BEFORE 3 MONTHS...WOULD U AGREE? OR IS MY DOCTOR NOT  GOOD ONE??

I would recommend going to a new doctor. I think it's important to start prenatal care early. I had an ultrasound at 8 weeks and although the embryo was small, we could still see it and the heartbeat. That confirmed that I had a viable pregnancy at least and gave me a chance to ask any questions I needed answered.

Hi i had a miscarriage in march this year and fell pregnant again in may. When i saw my ob after the ms i told him we were going to ttc again and he requested that once i got a BFP HPT to see him so he could monitor my stats from early on. He even refered me an ultrasound at 6 weeks (vaginal) to ensure things were where thay shouls be at that stage. Though we couldn't see much we got a HB and the EDD. From 5 weeks of pregnancy i have seen my ob every 4 weeks, so by 13 weeks i had seen him 3 times, sorry no 4 times had a bit of a scare with bleeding so saw him for that to.
I personally feel it is worth seeing your OB before 3 months. It healped ease my fears due to the ms as well helped me relax knowing everything was going well.

I had my first u/s when I was 6 weeks on the dot.  The doctor said "There's a baby, a itty bitty baby, but still a baby".  It was also pretty neat to see the heart beat for first time.  Since then I've had 8 more u/s and I am 12 weeks today.  I'm also considered high risk cause I have a lot of health issues, but its still important for everyone to get prenatal care as soon as possible.  Just so they can keep an eye on you and the baby.

this is my first child. im 9 months along and i started going to the doc when i was only 4 wks along. i dont know if there r any risks of not going early in pregnancy but it made me feel alot better to go ahead and go see a professional as soon as i found out. your doc sounds like a jerk. i would definitely switch

when i first got pregant, my regular practice didn't want to see me until 12 weeks. BUT they were a very busy practice and it's impossible to get an appointment there, so i suspect that has something to do with their philosophy. my new ob tracked hcg levels and did early ultrasounds. you dr was right in that there's nothing they can do to prevent miscarriage at that point, but they can confirm it's not ectopic. more importantly, my new ob provided counseling and answered the millions of questions we had. he did blood work, and we discovered i'm a cf carrier. he followed up with giving dh bloodwork, and we learned he isn't, thank goodness. he discussed nutrition, medications, etc... he also did a pap.
some doctors don't see you until then. i personally didn't like that, so i found a new doctor.
