IUD still bleeding...

IUD still bleeding...

Hello again ladies, it's been a long time. So here goes. I've now had my IUD for over 6 months (Mirena) and I still bleed of and on like crazy (at least a few days a week). I also bleed heavily after intercourse, Marissa is now 8 1/2 months old and I am still nursing her; with my other kids I didn't even get a period when breastfeeding. My question for you ladies is do you have any of these issues with your IUD? Thanks Ladies!

I hated mine-  I had it inserted in March of this year and just had it out 3 weeks ago...  every month I had the worst cramping, in the middle of my cycle, not at my period-  my period was heavier with it then normal...  (I just had a baby in January)....  I HATED it!   I have felt so much better since I had it removed!  My cousin had problems with it too!

Good luck,  but if I were you i'd have it taken out...  but I just know I hated mine!

At this point you need to see your doc.  You shouldn't be having symptoms like this from it 6 months later, unless something isn't right.

Hormones?  Placement?  Hard to say.

Thanks guys I had Marissa in January. This has just been nuts. I complained about it when I first got it they ran a test to make sure there were no STD's or PID, and said it should stop all was well. I'll make an appt. Thanks!

I hated my Mirena too. I bled for over 6 months and finally begged to have it taken out after my doctor said to give it one more month. I got it removed and had the Copper IUD placed and all symptoms resolved. Some people cannot have Mirena. Yes, I know most people love theirs. However, not all do. In my case, any type of birth control that has added hormones my body goes haywire. Bleeding, bloating, cramping, acne, moodiness, etc, etc...

My advice is to get it removed and get the Copper IUD if you like the concept of the IUD. Good luck!
