IUI Procedure

I went to a specialist the other day and they are going to put me on clomid next month (have already been on it 7 months, off for one) and do an IUI. Has anyone ever had this done and if so, did it work for you?  Just curious. We've been ttc for 1-1/2 yrs and at this point, I'll do whatever it takes to have a baby!

Last year my dr put me on Clomid for 3 cycles and then we tried IUI. I had 3 previous m/c and we had been trying to become pg again for 6 months, so he decided to go ahead and put me on the clomid. Unfortunately, the cycles of Clomid nor the IUI procedure worked for us (we only did 1 IUI, though.) After all that I decided to call it quits for awhile, as I was very stressed. This past November we decided that we would no longer "try" but we wouldn't take any precautions to prevent pregnancy either. Low and behold I am now 21 weeks pg with a healthy baby boy!!! So I think when the time is right it will happen! But that is just my story. A friend of mine tried unsuccessfully to become pregnant for quite some time. Then after 2 rounds of Clomid combined with IUI she became pg and now has a baby girl. So, hopefully it will work for you. Good Luck!!!!!

I am tring to have another baby for 18 month with 1 MC.
Then we went to a specialist and had 4 round clomaid with IUI
3 round famra with IUI.
The first round end it up ectopic pregnancy, and the rest of 5 rouds with no luck. So now my next step is IVF.  
My nurse told me that IUI has very low sucess rate, however, IVF will have higher sucess rate.

Yes we tried clomid on and off for two years I also tried IUI too but only once and that was enough for me. I told the doctors if they couldn't give me a reason to why I wasn't getting pregnant than that was enough we stoppoed everything in Feb.2004 and by Oct.2004 I was pregnant I think we were thinking about everything to much. June 2005 my baby boy was born. I know how stressful it all is but try and relax. It will happen for you good luck.

I also have had this procedure done, with 150mg of clomid and IUI twice and for me it didn't work, I am now taking clomid (50mg) days 5-9 to help lengthen my leuteal phase, hopefully that will be all it takes, otherwise IVF will also be our next step as well, and I am really hopeing that we don't have to go that route.  Good luck, I hope it works out for you!

I was on 3 cycles of clomid - the clomid didn't work for me (although i did ovulate extra eggs) so my dr. put me on letrazole (i think i was on it 2 or 3 cycles) and with the last cycle i had an iui. i got pregnant during that cycle - it made it easier for the sperm to reach the egg i guess. i ended up losing the baby (but it had NOTHING to do with the iui). i'm now being testing why m/c b/c it was my second in a row. (the first pregnancy was without any meds or iui - just monitoring of cycle). sorry i don't mean to go off on a tangent, but just want you to know it really had nothing to do with iui - if anything iui was helpful. i hope it works for you right away. also don't worry the iui shouldn't be painful although you do get some cramping when speculum (or whatever it's called - instrument used to put sperm near uterus)is close to the uterus. ii used clomid 3times and got pregnant all three times but,all in end  in miscarriages.could someone out there tell me what to do next .i want so bad to have a child with my husband.i am34 years young and i dont have one child.do you think iui will work for me.
