IVF- first time sucess?

Hello Everyone,
I am new to this site and discussions/questions. I am 10 days post embryo transfer. This was our first IVF cycle and we were able to transfer 2 "very good quality" embryos... I'm very impatient and will not find out if I am pg until 12/28, so I took an hpt and it was negative this morning...I'm a little discouraged because posts I have read have received positive results at the 10 day mark. I have not experienced any cramping or vaginal discharge since the transfer and we are hoping that is an excellent sign that all is well and attached. Has anyone gone thru IVF and been sucessful on the first try?

I haven't personally used this procedure, but I wanted to say my cousin has and was successful on the first try. They are expecting a baby in June. Hope that's encouraging and good luck to you.

hi, mbzz. u have to wait more than 14 days post transfer to get a positive HPT (if u r pregnant), bcs before that time HGC level is very low in the urine. u can do a blood test to show u 100% sure if u r pregnant or not. I wish u all the best and baby dust to u!!! keep us informed for the result.

My sister in law did their 1st IV try last Aug and they put 2 good eggs into her. They both took and she is pregnant with  twin  girls and is 21 weeks along.

I did not get pg till my second attempt (where we transferred 3)  then I miscarried.  we transferred 3 again and I just delivered.  I had implant bleed when I miscarried and i got a positive on 12 days post transfer.  With this one I didn't do a HPT but got a positive blood test 9 days post tranfer

I thought I sent an earlier mssg, but don't know where it went... hmmm!!! in any rate,  I know exactly where you are at in your IVF process bc I am right there with you.  I had my ET date on 12/14/ 05.  They were able to retrieve 10 eggs, but  6 were only viable.  I had 3 transferred on 12/17. In the meantime, I continued to take my aspirin, medrol (for 5 days), progesterone, and estrogen.  I had to wait 2 weeks after the ET date to confirm pregnancy.  Boy, it was the longest 2 weeks ever. However during this time, I did experienced some cramping and it felt as though there was lots of movement going around in my tummy. I, mostly felt bloated, but no discharge. I had to refrained myself from taking a Hpt only bc my Dr. said that it will not be accurate due to all the meds I am taking. On 12/28, I took a blood test in the morning (8:00) and by 10:30, the RN called me and confirmed my +pregnancy (my hormone level were at 436).   I had to go back today, 12/30 for a follow up and my hormone level was at 1316.  Now, I have to wait another 2 weeks for my first U/S in mid Jan 06.
