Ok, I'm having my 1st IVF transfer tomorrow. I had 22 eggs, but only 10 continued to grow. They were only able to retreive 8 of which 4 fertilzed. They did ICSI since sperm count was low on retrievel day. I am have a 3 day transfer. The embryoCea's are as follow: 1-2 cell, 2-3 cells, and 1-4 cell. The 2 cell has a littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys fragmentation. Can anyone tell me if this is good or not? Is a 5 day transfer better than a 3 day? How many should I transfer back? I'm 25 and have had two previous miscarriages for a quick review. Let me know your thoughts. Blessing to you all!!
Well, this is my 3rd try (1st two unsuccessful) and there is still so much more to understand. My understanding is that grade 3+ is average and anything below that (1s or 2s) is great. This is based on number of cells and their division. How does your doctor grade the embryosCea? If I understand correctly, it's not just the number of cells but the quality as well..
With respect to 3-day vs 5-day transfers, my doctor says 3-days are better because the embryosCea are always better off in the natural incubater than in the lab. Day 5s are done in an attempt to prevent multiple births and if there are so many embroys that it needs to be determined which will actually survive past day 3.
I hope your transfer went well today and that you are resting and taking good care of yourself and baby. Please let me know how it went, how many were transferred, etc.
You have to decide how many to transfer with consultation from your doctor. If you are no opposed to the possibility of multiples, you may consider transferring all 4. My first time 5 were transferred, the 2nd time 6 were transferred and this last time 6 were transferred. I'll take my chances with multiple births if a larger # improves the chances of success.

God bless you too and I pray the best for you.
