I'm SPOTTING !

by silo, Feb 22, 2004 12:00AM
I am absolutely devastated.  Friday afternoon, I went to the bathroom and had the faintest pinkish-brown on the t.p. when I wiped.  I almost passed out, I was so upset.  I called the doctor, and he said just to wait and if it got very heavy to call him back.  Well, about two hours later, I started getting very sick to my stomach.  I started throwing up and didn't stop until yesterday before lunch.   I had horrible diarrhea too.  My son had this same stomach virus a few days ago.  During all this, I had no more spotting.  I just woke up and went to the bathroom...still no spotting.  I was my hands really well and checked my cervix I had a tiny speck of blood on my finger...red blood.  I can't beleive this is happening to me.  If I miscarry again, I'm giving up.  I can't go through this again.  I am going in tomorrow for an u/s, but they can't get me in until 1:45.  I'll be 8 weeks, this Thursday.  Please pray that everything turns out ok.

This sucks so bad.  My sister just lost her baby Fri. at 9 weeks.

I would just like to tell you to STOP CHECKING YOUR CERVIX.. Most doctors will tell you to stop checking your cervix when you become pregnant because the risk of infection.. Just let the doctor do what he needs to do.. Even if your hands are clean there is still your nails that have tons of germs... You def. dont want to get a infection while pregnant... I hope and pray that everything will turn out ok.. Just relax.. and lay down.. dont over do anything.. just rest until you get to the doctor.. You will be in my thoughts.. good luck..

Do you have cramping?  The throwing up could have caused a blood vessel in your cervix to leak.  As long as you have only had a small bit, and no cramping, don't panic.

My thoughts are with you. Please, don't panic though! I know it's easier said than done, but at least try not to. I will be thinking of you tomorrow at 1:45.

I'll be praying and thinking about you too.  Just like Kassimom said, try not to freak out about it just yet.  try to remember that LOTS of women experience light spotting during early pregnancy.  Take it easy, Gods watching over you.

To: SPENT SUNDAY IN THE ER
Well, to make a long story short.  I ended up in the ER yesterday after church, because the pain in my side was unbearable during church.  I was mostly uncomfortable when I was sitting down.  I've had this pain for several days now.  I hadn't eaten anything since Friday at lunch and decided to go eat after church.  We sat down for lunch and I was again very uncomfortable because of the "stitch" in my side.  I ate 2 bites of my food and immediately got very sick to my stomach.  I barely made it to the car and started vomiting.  I started panicking thinking that with the spotting and side pain and vomiting for so long, that I could possibly have an ectopic.  I called my doctor and the nurse on call told me to get in to the ER right away.  After tons of blood work an abdominal sono. to check all organs, and a pelvic and vaginal sono. they determined that everything was fine.  I got to see the baby with and it looked great.  The heartrate was 136 bpm.  I really expected to either see another blighted ovum or an ectopic.  The doctors said that the side pain was probably due to the low back injury that I have from last week.  The vomiting was just due to the horrible stomach virus that is being passed around my house.  My husband started throwing up last night and did all night long.  It's the worst I've ever seen.  I was very dehydrated so they gave me 2 bags of I.V. fluids before I left the hospital last night.  They couldn't explain where the brown spotting was coming from and didn't seem too concerned with that.  I was so relieved to finally see a baby on that screen.  This is my 4th pregnancy this year and this is the first time I've seen a baby in all 4 pregnancies.  Thank God!  He performs miracle everyday.

I know how you feel, I have lost babies this last year and half too and any spotting is absolutely terrifying...BUT I wanted to share with you that I am 18 weeks now, just had my level 2 ultrasound and everything is looking great, its a girl!  I have spotted, brown three or four times this pregnancy sometimes for a couple of days.  I know its scary and we never have guarantees, in fact, I won't feel relaxed until my baby is in my arms, but I also wanted to let you know that I have spotted several times this pregnancy and it seems to be progressing just fine.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and your baby!

WOW, what a miracle.  Glad things are okay with you and the baby.

I am so pleased you are ok.  It really helps us all, because most of us have had m/c, and know the sight of any blood, spotting or not just puts fear and panic into us.  You did the right thing and got things checked.  Please now rest and enjoy the little miracle growing inside.

Thanks so much to you all for being so supportive.  It's such a blessing to have so many friends who are going through or have been through the same things.  It's nice when there's people that can relate.  I feel tons better today, just tired.  I can't stop thinking about that sweet little heart beating inside of me.
