I'm at wits end...Prednisone AGAIN

so this weather is REALLY bad...We've been getting 38degrees out there and the humidity is just horrible and well 2 weeks ago guess what..after 6 weeks of ds's asthma getting better...yup you guessed it...it flared up again...i'm just soo annoyed by this....like seriously..when will it end...this will be the 6th time he has been on prednisone since nov 2008...it frustrates me... and now his dr has told me not to bring him outside when it's so humid etc..put a letter out to daycare etc etc...he has an upper respiratory infection...as usual..nothing new to me and see i KNEW it...i told my mom this weekend he had something going on.. he has sever allergies and asthma...talk about hell..

the doctor mentioned gettin an air conditioner.. for those with experience will it help alot???? it's rather a big purchase so i'm wondering if it would help alot then i could have it as a medical reason and possibly be able to get some help

The air conditioner will help him by taking the humidity out of the house.   I have asthma and it makes a huge difference.   What med's is your son taking for maintenance?

he is currently on the blue puffer..i dont remember the name and the purple one(advair) as his preventative and he is currently on 15ml per day of prednisone for 5 days...his cough has gotten better but worse.. the mucous is loosening up  so the couch sounds really bad...

Has your Dr mentioned using a nebulizer instead?  This would work better than an inhaler.

i mentioned it to him but he doesnt seem too concerned about the neb..however when we spoke about it he did say the meds were very expensive...my aunt has the machine if need be...
