I'm running out of ideas..

Ladies, I'm running out of ideas in terms of salads and entrees...I'm breastfeeding and I was told to avoid certain foods (ie., cucumbers, broccoli, onions) b/c they cause gas.  My baby's very gassy and has reflux so I have to avoid a lot of things.  However, I also need to eat!!  Anyone has any ideas of what I can make?  Thank you.
P.S. I know that many of you may not believe in the "what the mother eats effects the milk" theory but I've had way too many coincidences where I ate something "gassy" and DD was VERY fussy and suffering from gas that night.  Thank you again for the ideas.

I believe what you are saying. I was told the same thing a long time ago while DD#1 was born. I would consider making very simple meals such as sandwitches, chicken breast with steam carrots, pizza should not hurt the baby, pasta, salads etc. Just leave beens, broccoli, califlower, cabbage and all the food which can make your stomach bloaded out! Search on line for nursing mother cooking recipes. There has to be something! If not, talk to your Dr.  Good luck...I will be in the same boat in 4 weeks!

I tried the elimination diet and was down to eating plain chicken on white bread.  Nothing worked with my DD --turned out didn't matter --I may be in a different boat than you however, as I could not produce enough milk for DD and had to supplement with something else.  I quit BF because I never got enough --DD was no longer interested in my breast and I stayed up all night pumping milk only to get 2 oz.  I think we just are an unlucky bunch of ladies who have children with immature tummies and nothing but time is going to straighten them out.  I am sooooo tired of all of this as you must be too.  I want a specialist--we are ready to spend as much time and money as it takes to get a happy child.

:(:(  I feel so sorry for both of us (sigh)  I def feel your pain.  Sometimes I feel the day will never come when I have a happy baby.  But it WILL...Just try and keep a positive outlook (out of all ppl, I know it's difficult at times).  Let's hope our babies feel better soon! (or I have no energy left for much longer).
