Implantation or Period????????????

I got my Af on Jan. 31st. Had sex on 13,14, and 15th perfect acording to the ovulation predictor..... Well On sun. Feb. 26th ( 2 days before AF is due) I began to bleed. Now i have read alot about this implantation bleeding, but not sure if that is what I experienced. Very dark blood ( sorry for TMI) the first day coming down, thought I came on :( But then the next day the blood only passed in my urine. same thing on Tuesday. Today there is NO bleeding at all. Is this normal? I took a preg test only to get BFN was that implantation and would I have had to wait to test if it was? Tested again yesterday BFN.....  Should I assume this was just an abnormal AF?

I hate to say it but I don't think you're pg because you're now 2 days late and are getting bfns. If it was implantation bleeding 4 days ago, it would have been enough time for hcg to build up to give you a + result on hpt. I hope I'm wrong, but just giving you my opinion. If you're not convinced, go to the doc and have him do a blood pg test.

I read that about the 4 day thing, and is it 4 days after the bleeding or 4 days from the time it starts?

It actually takes 2 days from implantation for hcg to build up enough to show + on HPT so I would assume that the bleeding would follow implantation so if you had impantation bleedfing 4 days ago, then you would probably have gotten a bfp by now. Of course, this is just my opinion but if your gut is telling you that you're pg, just go to the doc and get a blood test.

hey - that is the SAME EXACT THING going on with me!!!  and i've had a little bit of cramping - i think the bleeding has finally stopped (though it was mainly just in the urine after a day or so)  -  i had a BFP test before this though (tested early with first response) so yesterday i went to the doctor for a blood test just because i don't trust the store bought right now --- i'd get the blood test!!!

If your LP is 10 days and you Oed on the 18th then you are, exactly as your said at the begining of your post 4 days late. Are you sure your LP is only 10 days? If it were 14 days (more average) than what you experienced may have very well been implant bleeding and perhaps you did test too early. Why don't you just get the blood test?

Are you serious? I would be soooooo happy! At this point I am scared to even test,but I think I am :( So did that happen around the time you expected your AF?  Was it one day of blood and then just kind of saw blood in passing????  Please tell me your story.

sounds like impantation bleeding. I first noticed my implantation bleeding on day 26. It was light pink. Only when I wiped. Everyother day for 5 days I had pink and brown blood when I wiped. HPTs came back -ve until day 35. I'd wait 2 days and take another test. You probably are prego

Hi! I'm new to this site! I just thought my situation could give you a glimmer of hope. My husband and I have been TTC for 6 yrs. I had my tubes reversed in 2000. This past Feb 16, my period started. I bled HEAVILY for 4 days straight. I went through 4 tampons a day (at least). The only abnormality with this period, was that is started a few days earlier than what I am normally accustomed to. Well, I'll spare you the mundane details, but I found out last week ... that it WAS NOT a period.!! It was HEAVY implantation bleeding. My doctors tell me not to fear. My hcg levels are rising as they should, and a ges. sac was seen on ultrasound.

sorry for the double posting .... not sure how that happened. Anyway, don't give up hope. What I thought was a normal period, was actually heavy implantation. My doctor told me that it could have very well been a "vanishing twin" due to the fact that I was on fertility hormones.

wow that's crazy. That's what I probably would have guessed. Miscarrying the twin. I heard that miscarrying twins are quite common, and most women don't even know that it happened. My cousin was pregnant, Bled a lot during her first trimester. She was very worried, in the end she had a healthy baby boy, and also discovered sometime during her pregnancy, that he was supposed to be a twin!

That's so wierd...I am going through that now. I have been bleeding since I found out I was pg on 2/26/06.  It was heavy for a while, but has slowed down. The bleeding is still red. IU have taken 2 HCG test so far and the numbers have doubled the way they were supposed to. I will know tomorrow what my next levels are and if they have doubled correctly. I had an u/s today, but couldn't really see anything. The dr. said that my uterus lining was thick and everthing looks normal. It could have been too early.
Hopefully we can get to the bottom of this within the next few days.

Hey all - I'm new to this site and am glad that I can talk to someone about this topic.  It's truelly frustrating to not know exactly what's going on huh?  Anyway, I've been experiencing weird symptoms for the last 2/3 weeks.  e.g. frequent urination, thirst, breast sensitivity (on and off), backache, abdominal cramps, fluttering feeling around my ovaries, as well as waking up early hours of the morning to pee, which I never do.  Anyway, since I've been pregnant before, but unfortunately miscarried at 6 weeks, I definitely thought I was pregnant (maybe just wishful thinking).  However, since the miscarriage, I found out that I had Endometriosis, and had surgery to remove as much of it as possible (Jan 20/2006).  Also stopped using my birth control pill 2 weeks after the surgery to try for pregnancy. Since the pill, I've had 1 full-on period 2 weeks post surgery (Feb 5-10), then had what looked to me like implantation bleeding for 3 days (Feb 20-23).  Since then I've tested twice and got BFN results.  Yesterday I again started getting the same type of bleeding at first just when I wipe (pink-brown discharge)today just a little on my liner.  It doesn't help that because of the surgery and pill, my whole cycle is out of wack, so I'm truelly confused.  Esp since my aeriolas seem bigger than usual?  any advice ladies. I am so happy to find other people who are in the same situation as me!!!  I think I am having implantation bleeding also (spotting).. I went for a blood test and they told me my levels were in the "gray" area a 7!!  They think I might have gone too early... day 16 post ovulation (I think)... I am currently seeing a fertility specialist and was AI 19 days ago... I am exhibiting cramping (like menstral cramping) and horrible lower back pain...Pregnancy tests are coming out lightly positive...However this has happened before... I miscarried in December,..my HCG numbers didnotdouble, etc., my progesterone was high and had a missed abortion so I had a D & C... I am just afraid that this will happen again...
ANyway, Amy, I understand what you are going through...try to keep positive and IT WILL HAPPEN!!!  You know your body best... it sounds like you could be pg!!  Good luck with everything!!!
Oh, I have the SAME symptoms that you are explaining!! I am so thirsty that I could drink a gallon of water in one sitting!! Keep us updated!!!

I started bleeding heavily today, was in pain for most of last night, and it reminded me of my period pains before my surgery, so I think that it might be my actual period that's a few days late.  In fact today I'm hoping that's the case because I'm having pains in my leg, neck and shoulder too, which is unusual, and if I'm pregnant, I read that that could be a symptom of an ectopic pregnancy (tubal-pregnancy), which would be likely in my case, since my doc found out during surgery that my left fallopian tube was a little damaged.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hopes high!  my pain has subsided a bit, so I'll keep checking my blood and if symptoms continue, I'll call my doc.

Well, I think we are on the same cycle (hopefully yours is not period pains/bleeding)....I also started bleeding heavily today..as well as severe cramping.. I called the Dr. and they said...looks like CD 1 !!!  Which means that I start the process over, fertility meds on day 5, US on day 12, AI, day 18ish!!!  ( they did consider it an early miscarriage..this is # 2 for me) Here we go again....   I am also sorry to hear about the bleeding and pain... I also had some pain in my shoulder...   I think you should call the dr. just to be on the safe side....if it is an ectopic pg., then the earlier the better that they find this...  I am hoping that this is not the case... good luck and I hope the pain stops...it is safe to take tylenol but NO Ibruprophen (sp?), Asprin....etc... bad for implantation, etc...   Keep thinking positive....

Hello everyone I am new on here. AF was due on the 18 I had small cramping and when I went to check if AF have arrived it was only discharge. Again on 19 no cramping but only discharge. On the 20 I wiped a I had pink blood and an hour later it was red. I wanted to know could this be implantation bleeding or is it AF. Also I tested on 18 and 19 and got a BFN. Some please Help!!!!

It could totally be imp. When did you test last? I got my BFP about 4 days after seeing the imp. bleeding. It may be too soon to tell yet. I'm a big supporter of the Clearblue Easy Digital and i think it's pretty sensitive. by a 2 (or 3) pack and test again first thing tomorrow if still no, wait til Thursday. You should know something by then. Keep us posted!

Hey thanxs for answering back. But I was pg in september and decided the timing wasnt right and had an abortion. I regret it alot but I didn't have any bleeding like I do now. I thought the bleeding would have stopped by now but I am still bleeding. I think is it AF because I have cramping and I am bleeding alot. Can implantation have taking place after AF was due? I am confused because AF is never late especially not two days.

Hello, I am new to this but I was wondering if anyone had these symptoms.  I had an IUI on day 14 of cycle and then on day 21 i started with very bad pains very low in my abdomen like where the uterus would be.  I havnt had any bleeding.  The pains lasted for about a day.

Hi everyone, heres my question. I had sex on the 14th day of my 30ish day cycle, then exaclty 6 days after I started to bleed lightly, and the next day it was heavy, and (today, day 3 of bleeding) it seems to be tampering off. I'm trying to decide if this is implantation bleeding but i heard that its always light. Can it ever be heavy? Because that was about a week and a half early for my period which always stays to the 29-30 day cycle. What do you think?????

I'm just wondering, a bit worried, My last period was March 3, 2006 to March 6, 2006. Orginally I get my period every 21 days, but it came early from Feb. Now 2 weeks ago from March 17 & 18, I've been having Nasuea all day on and off,(morning sickness), and March 19 to March 24 ( morning sickness) I've been throwing up, my breast was hurting me a little. So I took a home pregancy test and it said negative, but I've still getting symptoms. Then March 27, i took the test again and it said neg. I went to the doctor the same day, and he said I'm not blue. Then I got my period but it wasn't flowing as usual, only on the tissue, and the blood is red and pink, but not heavy, no cramps, but still having nasuea (morning sickness), and the blood finish today, the usual 4 days I get my period, so I dunno if I'm pregant or that was my period is acting up from the 2 weeks ago I've been getting the nasuea. I looked at all the pregancy symptoms and I have all of them, so was it implantation or was it my period???? I really need an answer if anyone experienced what I'm explaining. thank you.

hi, im abit worried whether im experiencing implantation bleeding or my menstral period. Because i would say the last time i actually felt my period came ( with all the cramps) was on the 3rd of march. my cycle has been running every 24 days and last week i came on the 29th of march which should of been the 31st. It started of spotting then light pink then a dark red and lasted no more than 3-4days. i had a slight pain lower part of the stomach but nothing more than that. It wasnt like my normal period with all the cramps it felt unusual. I feel very tired, nasal congestion, slight pelvic pain, nausea and light headed. i went to the doctors a couple of days ago and he done a hcg test and it was negative. now should i take that as accurate or should i get the blood test? please tell me what you make of this

Hello everyone!!  I'm new here and after reading some of the comments I beleive this forum may be a more reassuring one.  Ok...I found out I was pregnant Feb 22nd and three days later began to miscarry.  I had a D&C performed on the 4 of March and was told I wouldn't get a normal period for another two months.  Well this month on the 3rd I noticed I had developed a yeast infection and along with it there was some spotting and  I treated it with an over-the-counter med.  My partner and made love on the 8th and I began bleeding and haven't stopped since.  I took an EPT( home preg test) on the 8 that looked to be positive (very faint line).  The very next day I took another one with the same result.  On the 10th I took a First Responce (Home Preg Test) and it came back negative.  On the 11th I took another EPT, the result was positive.  Yesterday I had some cramping and I did pass some clots.  At about 3 am this morning I took another test (EPT), positive results.  I went to the doctor this morning for a follow-up of D&C and shared this information with him.  He has me scheduled for a blood test on Monday, he said it's really early and he wants to give the HCG time time rise.  This afternoon I took a First Responce and it came ack positive, but the line was very faint.  There is still some light bleeding with no cramps, but ofcourse I'm stressed because I don't want to go through another Miscarriage or D&C.  
Can anyone shed some light on this?  Has anyone experienced anything similiar to this and carried full term resulting in a healthy baby?

I know this isn't what you want to hear.  But your positive test could be HCG left over from pregnancy that required D&C.  I didn't realize this was a possibility until last November.  I went to Dr. for normal Pap smear visit and found out that I had been pregnant and the baby had died.  I wasn't planning a baby(Two previous miscarriages and took fertilities w/ my 8 y/o) and didn't know it could happen. Had D&C on Nov. 1 and when I went back for checkup with nurse, a blood test was done because Hubby and I didn't wait our 3 weeks. oops! Anyway, blood test was positive, I was shocked again.  Long story short, two weeks later HCG's started going down. Saw Dr. and he said it was left over levels from original preg.  They continued going down until negative.  Now hubby and I have decided to try again although we have a 13 y/o and 8 y/o.  I am on this site because I think I have implantation bleeding.  I guess I'll know in a few weeks.  Good Luck.

OK...im a bit confused...i had sex on the 10th and i got my period april 11th and it ended on the 17th...then trying to get pg i had sex again on the 28th because I was due to ovulate..now i started lightly bleeding on the on the 30th, with cramps and it got a bit heavier the next day..only lasted 3 days..not normal for my cycle...could this be implantation bleeding..mind you...i'm not due to have my period until May 11th considering i have a very regular schedule...please help me!!

Hi everyone. I was reading some of these articles, after searching google.com for some answers about some questions I had. For about the last 2 weeks I've been feeling this awkward feeling. something I've never felt before. The first week it felt like something was moving/flying around... i guess you could say fluttering around (since it was a light descrete feeling) my lower stomach. Like my bladder/uterus area. I have had no pain or discomfort what so ever.. But now this last week I am still feeling it, but also this week I have started feeling almost like a pressure in the same area. And the last couple days I have been peeing a lot. I have barely even drank anything. So I know I'm not peeing because of what i consume. Anyways I am confused, and kind of worried at what this might be. Some people are suggesting that I might be pregnant, and other are suggesting I might have an infection. I have no clue. I figured I'd ask some of you all, since most of you seem to know what you're talking about...and you've been through stuff like this before. I'm kinda not wanting to go to the docs about it, because I don't really have the money for a doc visit...so yeah. I apologize for writing so much. I was due for my period this week and yesterday I had some brown discharge. This is the first time I've had this and it was a little heavy. Then late last night I started to bleed. It's not my regular heavy first day bleed and it had brown discharge to. Then I woke up Friday and I already am having the end of the period discharge(brown). I had some nausea after lunch until it just stopped(after eating crackers and drinking ginger ale). My husband and I are trying to get pregnant, so what do you think?

I started spotting yesterday dark dark blood.. and today i am only a little bit. If I am pregnant this will be my second child. It was similiar to this the first time. My boobs are sore and I have been so tired. I took a blood test friday and it came out negative but my gut instinct is telling me that I am pregnant. I have irregular periods so I have no clue when I am due for another one to even know when to test again. I was bleeding for two and a half months straight and then I stopped all of a sudden after my husband and I had sex a billion times. and now this? When should I test again if this is implantation bleeding? Thanks a bunch

It's a small world! I am going through the exact same thing. Thank God for the internet. I started bleeding 12 dpo and ceased on day 14. I am due to commence my P tomorrow. Have only been ttc for 2 months. Went to DR on Fri and was told to take it easy as he believed it was implantation bleeding. I am always exactly 28 days.
Have been testing (-) since day 12 dpo. I will keep testing every second day this week. My fingers are crossed for both of us. I know that something is up as I can feel it in my waters :)

im in the same situation, i had a period on the 4th of may had sex on the 11th and 23rd, my period was due again on 30th may but it came two days earlier but it only lasted for 2 days and it was unsually light and i had a lot of dark brown for a day, right npw i dont no what to think.......... confused!

New here.. Me and hubby has been ttc. I already have 3 kids.. but don't remember it being such a fuss to get preg. Ok.. My last mensus was May 4,06..and lasted for 5 days ( cycles run from 26-29 days conclusive). According to the ovulator predictor I was to ovulate on the 16.. so we kept active(hint hint)from the 10th to the 18 just to be sure we didn't miss a day. Anyways.. I usually go through 2-3 or more pads a day when on a period, usually quite heavy, this time however I am only using a pantiliner and it goes from red, to watery pink to nothing, this is day 3 of this and right now there is nothing.I have yet to fill a pad.I know I can go to the doc..or get a preg. test, but first I would like to hear from anyone that may suggest their opinions..and whatever I find out in the next week or two I can share with you. I would love to hear from anyone that may give me an opinion of what they think it is. Thanks so much

Well the suspense was killing me as this was our only our 2nd month of ttc our first child.
I bled for 3 days and finished the day before my normal Period was due. Nothing else on day 29 which is day 1 or so I thought??
Went and had a blood test on the 31st May, got results that afternoon and came back (-) so not sure what is going on now. :(
DR couldn't explain the change in my cycle either as I am always 28 days. So back to the drawing board. Charting and using the Maybebaby saliva microscope again. Now I am not sure if I am on day 10 as per the latest bleed or day 7 as per how I was before. Oh well I guess we will try every 2nd day from 12-17 and keep our fingers crossed.

I had my LMP on May 10th ... I detected an LH surge on May 23rd
through clearblue digital ovulation monitor which tells you that you shoudl ovulate 12-36 hours later .. we BDed a couple of days before that and we BDed that day I detected the surge and the day after as well .. I am currently 12-13 dpo ...
I did a hpt yesturday (11-12 dpo) and it was negative .. i had a blood test done on 9 dpo and today they said it was negative ..
however ... when I was wiping last night I saw a thread of red blood ... and this morning too .. after that when I wipe I get brownish CM ... my af isnt due till thursday and it is like clockwork so I know this blood is not af .. could this be implantation bleeding? if it is, then the blood test and hpt I
did before didnt detect pregnancy because it wasnt implanted yet right? I will wait till af is officially late but do you think my theory could be right? I feel very pregnant! I have two kids so I know what to expect: fatigue .. bloating .. oily PMS skin .. moodiness .. kind of sore and full breasts .. i have it all!! I am almost sure I am pregnant ... what do you think?

Let me give you a quick history about myself. I found out on 2/15/09 i was pregnant, as i had my period last on 01/13/09. Wen to my dr's on 03/20/09 to hear the babys heartbeat. Couldn't find it so sent me for an utlrasound and found out i was miscarriaging but not yet bleeding.  I was devastated. Had a DNC on 03/24/09. I had my period on 04/20/09, and then had it on 05/16/09. Now starting yesterd 05/31/09 i have had light, watery bleeding when i wipe, but i'm not due. Could this be implantaion bleeding? Any help would be greatly appreciated as we are at the moment trying to conceive again.
