Implantation question

by Beam11, Jul 06, 2006 12:00AM
Hi i know this is a stupid question but when you say that the egg is implanting into the wall.. does that mean that when it does impant that it is implanting to have the baby.. or does the egg implant every month weather you are preggo or not.. i dont quite undertand all that.. i think my egg is implanting right now since i have bleeding 2 weeks after my period on the exact day of my ovuation...  if you understand my question please let me know what this means.. thanks

I don't think bleeding 2 weeks after af has anything to do with implantation bleeding. I had implantation bleeding 4 days before af was due and on the due date still took a test (although I thought the spotting was my period) and it was positive.

The only time that your egg implants is when it is fertilized and you are pregnant.  When the egg and the sperm do not meet--the egg will travel all the way down your fallopian tubes and dissolve--that is what starts your period.  This is according to the puberty seminars that they give in school now days.

okay thanks for letting me know that.. im not getting my hopes up yet but i am a little excited... except for the fact that.. when they say the egg is implanting that its only a few spots of blood and that its pinkish.. this blood is dark brown and more than just a few spots. i have had to wear a panty liner for 2 days now. is this implanting or something totally different?

If you are Oing today with spotting then that is not implantation bleeding.  Implantation happens 5-12 DPO.  If you Oed early then maybe you are having implantation bleeding.  However, implantation usually happens without any signs whatsoever.  Very few women get implantation bleeding.  Good luck to you.  I hope you get your BFP.

i hope that it's a good sign for you the bleeding, but i would suggest you call your dr. anyway and tell him that you're bleeding, describe it, and tell when you got your last af.

Implantation occurs 5-7 days after ovulation, assuming the egg was fertilized.
