In need of Baby advice

Hey ya'll, I'm a new Mom and have some questions that I was hoping some of you could give me advice about.
-My baby gets hiccups atleast 3 times a day and they make her little body shake pretty bad. Is there something I'm doing or not doing that's causing this and is there some way that I can help stop them once they start?
-She gets terrible tummy aches that sometimes make her start screaming. I give her tummy drops but they don't seem to help much. Does anyone know what I can do to help her?
-How do I know if she's colicy? She seems to cry a lot even though she fed, changed and getting lots of attention.
-How long should I burp her and/or how many burps should I wait on before stopping?
-What kind of toys do you use with a new born? I've read that you should play with your newborn with colorful toys, but what toys? I'm afraid to give her a rattle because she moves her arms all over the place and I don't want her to hit herself in the face with them.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

-  Hiccups are normal.  It has to do with an immature diaphragm, I think.
-  I usually burp until I hear three good burps.  Burping by patting and bouncing my baby him on my knees with him sitting upright works best for us.
-  The package on the toy will usually say the age it is designed for.  There are some really good, bright, soft rattles.  Also, anything with a jingle sound is nice for a baby.  There is also an activity mat that has a criss-crossed couple of padded arcs over it that toys can hang on, that one is really great new infants.  They can lie on their back and look at and reach for the toys, or they can have tummy time and look at the bright mat.  (The one I had is black & white & red.)
-  As far as tummy and colic, if you are getting good burps out of her, it could be her new little digestive system just is not having an easy time.  Mylicon helps, but I also often recommend getting some infant probiotic.  It's the live cultures in yogurt, and helps them get those friendly intestinal flora they need for digestion.  The kind I got is called "Flora Baby" but there are others too.
Good luck!

Where would I find infant probiotic?

I got mine at a higher-end grocery store that also has a big health-food section.  It had a cold case that said "Probiotics" on the top.  You might check online too.  I wouldn't give such a strong recommendation except they were recently tested in a study against Mylicon and found to be more effective.  Incidentally, they make adult probiotics, too, and before I was able to find infant's, I got some of those and opened the capsule, and put just the tiniest pinch into my boy's mouth.  Check the whole probiotic thing with your baby's doctor -- I have asked my son's pediatrician and she said they were safe.
